i recently had my tuff stuff alpha tent warrantied for some clear coat peel and they want me to cut old on in half before they will ship the new one..

Has anyone one else had this happen??

seems like a waste of a perfectly good tent.. and just throwing it away to add to the land fill doesn't make sense to me..

i have to vehicles that i go camping in regularly and was gonna use the clear coat peel tent for one of them so i didn't have to switch them out all the time, as it is no easy task.

    any thoughts on this??

In the case of say an automaker it wouldn't surprise me if it's being warrantied.
They want them destroyed so nobody costs them again on it.

Pretty common. They don't want you giving it to your buddy, who then claims a warranty issue again.

I am also going through the same process and it seems a shame to have to destroy an otherwise usable tent. Come up with an alternative solution as of yet?

It might be more work than it's worth, but here was my solution.20230503_200105.jpg 20230507_143703.jpg20230507_143712.jpg 20230507_180025.jpg
