got off to a good start this morning. awesome outside (rain coming later)..

got in the shop & got the muffler on the mini truck. every now & then i can be patient enough for things to go smoothly instead of beating myself to death to make it happen.

this time rolled right out there, put on my shop clothes, cut the pipe off, stuck a expander in the pipe, bumped him out just a hair, slid the muffler up in there. nice & tight. fired it up. man that was sweet! made a hanger, welded it on, thru on a couple clamps. took it for a test run around the trails on the place.

NICE! no more sounding like old glass packs on a v8. now she just purrs.

good news is this muffler was for a 1.1L geo metro, so it flows plenty on this little 660cc motorcycle engine.

now on to the next thing.

We went to the hospital to visit Olivia this morning. She’s about 3 ounces away from the “go home” weight! At the rate she has been eating and gaining weight we expect her to be discharged Wednesday, Friday at the latest

I’ve had good luck with Evap-O-Rust. Had to clean up a set of calipers and a speed square. Put them in an aluminum baking pan and let them soak, came out looking good, just a few discolored spots but all the markings were clean and visible.

 

I could give you mine but you still wouldn't like it...I coulda done it 3 years ago but I decided to build it up some more. But the latest count is about 30 months +/-

 

Good evening gang.

1st day at the new job is in the books. LOTS of reading PDF's about company policies, CAD design and drawing best practices, ect.. I have at least 2 more days of that before I get any "work" to do. The commute kind of stinks, I have to go through 2 small PA towns to get there plus a 5 mile rip up the interstate.

I got the GMC all put back together on Sunday, twisted the key and it came back to life. I got it running long enough to get the timing set then went for a rip around the 'hood. When I pulled back in the driveway I cloud see smoke and smell burning oil. It was leaking again on the back of the intake. It's a different spot but it still ain't fixeded. It's good that the job is fresh in the brain, it should only take a few hours to do it again.

Just like the fab rats say- " we do it right 'cause we do it twice!"
