Receiving my rack today so getting ready to install it. Other than the weather stripping and a hole punch should I order anything else to get the install done?

Enough to piss my wife off…

For what it’s worth, I used a speed square while putting it together and used gorilla silicone to seal the bolts and spacers. I also ran one of the bolts into every hole to clean up the threads, pre installation. That has been a common complaint / recommendation. 35 mins from the time I opened the box til I tightened the last bolt. Easy peezy

Gage, how many crossbars do you recommend for a CVT rooftent? I understand more crossbars=higher weight rating, but doesn't the tent just mount to 2 crossbars anyway?

I would recommend the +2 setup if planning to mount a tent. This will add additonal rigity and strenth to the rack assembly to help support the weight of the tent and yourself. Let me know if you have any other questions!

nice looking rack & better price than most. Im shopping for one at the moment very hard to make a decision with so many options. Question; does this rack have t-slot for adding accessories or do you need to remove slats?

Thanks! You will need to loosen the two bolts on one end of the crossbar to add standard t-nuts and carriage bolts for accessories. You can also use drop-in style t-nuts, which we offer on our site under accessories, that will allow you to add and remove them without loosening any crossbars. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Anyone know how much weight can be mounted on the cab? Right now I’ve got a Yakima 7 gallon shower and maxtrax. Looking at mounting a pelican case with gear. Would that be too much for the rack and the cab itself? I have the foundation rack with a GFC

I prefer using drop in studs in combination with nylock nuts. I go up with the hardware already on the accessory with an impact driver and zip the 4 bolts tight and its firmly attached. When you take it off, dont take the nuts off all the way and then the hardware stays with the accessory.

What tool do you use to drill those holes and set the nuts? I’m trying to install my rack now and I don’t understand how I’m expected to drill the holes underneath the camper overhang.

Just ordered my Martin rack for my ‘19 DCSB.

Anyone mount a 180 degree awning on their Martin rack?

    Thanks!

I came too late to the game and missed this :boom: for my new, 2023 OR! (Had it in my cart and didn’t realize the new month was today!) Looks like a great rack and I’ve read great things about it. I’m definitely happy I found this thread before buying the OEM rack however! Hope to pick it up in the future … at the next sale maybe!
