I got these right when they came out, and I have to say, driving in snow or rain is pretty slippery.

I was hoping it would get better but it seems to be the same, whenever it rains I have to be really careful or I will break traction at every stop and go

Aloha TW Ohana, I’m stoked some guys are trying these new Toyo’s out… I’m liking what I’ve read via the Web. But was truly hoping some Tacoma guys have tried them out.

I’ve had many sets of the old Toyo A/T’s,, and a few years back I switched to the BFG’s KO2… simply because their a little Lighter, but most of all: They actually AIR DOWN

where as all my Toyo’s seemed to stay Bricks no matter what off road PSI I ran (think our Taco’s are too light for these 3ply load rated E tires)

I’m curious if these new Toyo “Trails” actually air down and flex

My Question and hope TW guys: is looking forward to hearing some Off Road ride feed back from Taco guys

    mahalo’s

Went with 275/70/17 on my 2nd gen. So far light offroading they're great... highway road noise hardly noticable. They did great on snow covered roads but coming to a stop on ice they're a little dicey... even with 4WD engaged. Another thing i noticed... in a snow covered parking lot with 4H engaged i have to make more gradual turns now... feel more binding compared to the 265/75R16 bfg a/t's i had prior. Had to reverse/forward a few times to get in parking spot (more than usual.) Probably just because it's a more agrresive wider tire but kinda suprised me.

Big time mahalo’s on the come back OffroadToy

them Toyo’s look amazing on your Taco

and I’d imagine them being bigger and the rim offset will take a mile or two to get use to on them tight parking lot turns (I’m running 35’s on Methods, and they do require a 3 point turn in certain tight spaces)

We don’t have Snow or Ice out here lol , but we do have constant rain/wet roads

I’m curious about when you’re just going down the hwy or country roads… do you Feel more Road Bumps? I remember my Toyo’s seemed to transmit the road imperfections into my cab a lot more than my BFG’s (again, I think it’s the fact that my Toyo’s were designed for heavier rigs), Thoughts?

i love the look of these AT Trails big time

    aloha

Thanks... Makes sense about the offset being different. As far as feeling the road i haven't noticed that much difference from the bfg e rated 10 ply. Love to see a picture of your rig with the Methods/ Toyo's.

my Taco is hovering on Jackstands for the last few months (doing a Restro on her). So it’ll be a month or so before I can rock some pics of the new wheels (which I will absolutely post for ya).

but here are some pics of Tires long past lol (3 different set ups all on Toyo’s). The last pic is with my BFG’s just before my Restro project
