Newbazoid here, I have a 2004 Tacoma with a trailer receiver hitch on the front and back. Attached to each hitch are these red boxes. They look like they have battery leads hooked to them. They say Warn on them, what are they for? “ IMG_0546.jpgIMG_0545.jpg

Power hook up for a hitch mounted winch or remote control port, I would guess

I may be wrong, but they might be quick attach connectors for battery jumper cables. So if you need to jump start another vehicle, you can do do from either front or rear of your truck. I've seen remote winch control cables, they were no where near that heavy gauge. But those are about the same gauge as most jumper cables.

Looks like a quick disconnect. Take a voltage reading to see if they are alive. Trace the wires if they go directly to the battery.

Quick connect jumper from warn. I had one for my dads older truck. It can’t be the connector for a winch’s remote control because the wire is too thick.

Check voltage on the connector & trace it to confirm.

Had a similar connector on my old GMC for the power winch on the boat trailer.

Those are anderson connectors. Like everyone has mentioned- can be for hooking up a removable winch or even if you have an air compressor with those fittings. I just installed them on my truck with a lambtek switch under the hood. I have it for my hitch mounted winch and I also fit my portable air compressor woth the anderson plug to make airing up my tires about 8 seconds faster (cuz opening the hood is for chumps!)
