Hey Connecticut, our backs hurt

Took the "back roads" from Brookfield to Torrington instead of getting stuck on 84 and trying to get even more stuck trying to get onto route 8 in Waterbury, for the kiddo's game up there this afternoon after work.

Drove through Bridgewater, Roxbury, Morris, etc. Nice drive through the countryside.

And great W by the kids to boot! Down 1-0, then down 2-1, came back to win 3-2.

Just ordered the last switch needed for the center console panel.

 

We are showing some evening rain up here in MA

 

Cold front moving in later today with rain this afternoon/early evening.

 

Here’s what I’m working with.

 

OK, I need input and opinions (and expertise) from you my fellow CT TW members.

I think it's time I get one of those cell phone mount thingy's... tired of having my phone in the cup holder, kind of out of reach in case I need it ASAP.

I've heard of and seen all types of different kinds of mounts. I've seen sucking cup holders, holders that bolt on to the bolts where the "oh shit" handle is, and I think even mounts that go on or near the radio.

I think I like the idea of having it near the "oh shit" handle.

Thoughts, opinions, input?! And possibly links to purchase the one that you like and/or use?

Does it block your view at all Dennis? Or it is just "low" enough that it doesn't? And is the phone easily accessible and use while it's on there?

 

View is fine, easy to use, easy to remove phone, no vibration, great for using Google maps

I've seen something like that. The link says it's for a 3rd Gen, but I'm sure they make something for the 2nd Gens as well.

Definitely another good option.

 

They do but that’s what pops up when you search. I’m going to find a way to mount the mic for the GMRS to it also.

 

@Cativelense - another CD slot mount user. “MPOW” brand from Amazon. Cheap and holds the phone well.

 

I turned the gain up on my mic (VHF ham) and use a remote push to talk switch Velcro’d around the shifter neck. The switch is a SPST trans break switch for drag cars. The mic itself is attached to a cigarette lighter plug (non functional plug) and pressed in to the lower dash. I can shift gears, talk, and turn all at the same time.
