    Hey there!

This product has been revised since the release and now includes an 8-second interval on the strobe function when pressing the brake.

We added this change to not strobe other drivers in heavy stop-and-go traffic consistently.

The unit in this video after further analysis is an early-release model.

Let me look. I think DD may even make one…..

EDIT: I was wrong, DD doesn’t make one. These guys build good stuff though:

Yeah, I bet you could. When I get my hands on the C1R harness, I’ll check it out. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be adaptable.

Got my harness from Hotshot and Hitch light today . First picture is just the standard harness hookup without the CR1. It's plug and play . Getting the CR1 to work took some time . Pictures aren't the best . Just disconnect the CR1 from the factory harness(DD harness) than wire up to the same colored wires as the DD harness other than the white and yellow on the CR1 connect together to the yellow off Hotshots harness to get it to flash .All black wires connect together . The red wire on CR1 goes to the green on hotshots harness. On the other end of the CR1 that goes to the hitch light CR1 red to yellow in the hotshot harness .. Sorry if this confusing and the pictures aren't the best but this will make more sense once you have the harness and hitch pod ready to install .

Update for 2nd Gen Tacoma Owners!

Our engineering team has a 2nd Gen in our engineering bay this week for additional testing.

We hope to have a solution coming down the pipeline in the very near future!

Thank you for your patience and support.

3rd gen here. I’ve had mine installed for at least 4-5 months. It’s great. I don’t notice a significant increase of light when backing up, but it’s extra piece of mind having an extra brake light since my third brake light is covered by my softopper. I broke off the tabs to push my hitch lock through.

    I used Hotshot off-road
Hotshot off road has them plug and play unless you have the CR1 than you have to wire it up in between ...

We are currently awaiting the response from one of our customers who is testing the harnesses on their 2nd generation Tacoma.

Additionally, our team just sent this customer new modules for the harnesses so we should hear back soon!

Once our engineering team receives operation feedback without an issue, we can start finalizing the finished harness for 2nd gen owners and roll them out to users waiting.

    Thank you!

Thanks for the info. I was studying mine last night before I started to disassemble, re-wire and solder. It helped me to take photos of how everything is connected so in case I hit a snag I can at least look back.

About to start after my workout!

Here is a photo of the CR1 ready to wire up to the hotshot harness. I purposely left the red and black wires from the CR1 relay hooked up to show that you need wire RED to yellow (red from CR1 to Yellow on Hotahot).

For new 2nd gen owners just reading, go back a few posts and then this picture will make more sense, but very soon Diode Dynamics will have this pre-wired so it’s truly plug and play.

I do too. I ran into a snag once I installed the hitchmount pod using the above method outlined by @smth10210. I have a set of new tail lights that have a flasher module built into them and they are interfering with the other flasher module provided with the hitchmount pod kit. It's keeping my blinker portion of the tail lights illuminated after activating, and I have a weird issue where the driver's side blinker will illuminate when you activate the passenger. I've triple checked my wiring, and even swapped my tail lights to my old ones (no-flasher module on tail lights) and the issue corrects itself. If I take out the flasher module from the kit then everything works fine with my new tail lights, but I lose the functionality of the hitchmount pod brake light blinking upon applying the brakes.

@Diode Dynamics - Can you share any details as of now on how you're going about the wiring? Will you do the tie-in point under the truck at the towing wiring harness "plugs"? If this is the case, I'll be buying an adapter from you to make this work as designed. :fingerscrossed::spending:
