    Hello,

Last summer I paid off my 2010 Tacoma that I bought in 2017 (after my 1997 Nissan Pickup was stolen and later returned) and as much as I'd like to upgrade to a newer model I just really enjoy not having a car payment so I'm looking for ideas to just scratch that itch and make the one Tacoma I have "different and feel newish". :D

I've started simple and got these nifty little knob replacement for the AC.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09J4JKKMP?ie=UTF8

And I got some new Husky liners that I really like, they fit great.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AYA3Q0M?ie=UTF8

I was thinking I'd like a different style gear shift knob but don't know where to start looking and the options are Amazon are pretty trash.

What sites do you fine folks use for fairly easy DIY "modding" jobs?

I'm a novice and not much of a gear head so simple is better.

Thanks for any help you offer!

New stereo headunit with apple or android CarPlay, that’s what I’d look at.

That is definitely on my want list. Have any good recommendations?

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I have similar knobs from Amazon and I found it very difficult to see the indicators during the day. It was a bit better at night with the lights on but it was still lacking. I went back to the OEM knobs.

Replace the dash, steering wheel, and lower center console with one from a 2.5 gen (2012-2015). That will change up the look.

Yea, during daylight hours no light but at night it's slightly better. I like how they look so it's doing that well. :)

I have a Pioneer Dmh-1500nex, works awesome, it’s older now but still great. Works with all the apps.
Check out crutchfield online, see what will fit your truck.

I put a Kenwood unit in my 2011. I wish I had done it years ago. OEM radio is/was crap. Having access to GPS, Spotify, etc. makes a world of difference.

PS: I bought the Kenwood from BestBuy and they installed it free...bonus

Anytime rear camera with the front camera addon. I don't know how I lived without it for so long.

I'm shopping right now. I think this will be my next purchase, so now time to start saving.

I've never had Best Buy do an install of anything, I think the last time I did audio upgrade The Good Guys and Circuit City were still around. haha

I may find what I want and shop best buy for it to get that warranty and free install too, maybe they'll throw this Dashcam I got as well.

I replaced the climate knobs .upgraded to a apple CarPlay radio and vinyl wrapped the lower half of the climate panel to blend in better and changed the shifter knob also . Just little touches. Next im going to paint the switch panels in the door to match the dash. The 12-15 models are like that.IMG_0317.jpg

Keep it clean! Nothing wrong with the OEM interior (could go with OEM black pieces tho). But I would start by replacing any scratched or faded pieces with new one to freshen up the existing interior.

Mines mostly stock but looks brand new. Brings me joy every time I get in.

LOL at Good Guys and Circuit City. Brings back the good old days.

Anyways another way to spruce up your interior would be a decent set of seat covers. You might get lucky and get a deal during Memorial weekend!

For Radio upgrades - I have bought several for various cars from Crutchfield's website. The nice thing about them is they give you all of the stuff you need for a clean installation besides the radio.
For Seat Covers - highly recommend Marathon seat covers in Montana. Made to fit and the material is not only waterproof, but wears well for a long time. I put some in my Tacoma, but also have a set in a Subaru Outback that are 10 yrs. old now with no signs of the material wearing yet.

Another vote for Crutchfield... I replaced the stock unit with a Pioneer/CarPlay and after a few months, it would just shut down and reboot. Called Crutchfield and they sent a replacement ASAP. Great company and people!!
