I want everyone to be aware of certain tactics, lies and shadiness going on in the tuning world.

- I see certain companies releasing a new version multiple times a year, then charging an update fee for this "improved" version. This is just a way to grab attention/stay relevant and a MONEY GRAB TACTIC. DON'T PAY IT. Most of the time there no improvements - simply fools gold. Have any doubts? - throw your truck on the dyno and compare results yourself. I think you'll be shocked and feel bamboozled like many are starting to see.

- When a tune is created/tested - its confirmed/tweaked using a dyno. A dyno is a machine which measures your trucks performance. You compare your truck in stock form vs tuned. The difference is the gains (or in some cases loses which we call "KDMin"). I continue to see companies lie/fluff the numbers to make their gains look much better than stock. For example a stock third gen tacoma = average 232 hp and average 234 torque. Some companies will claim low stock numbers to make the gain look huge. Also seeing data being released using manipulated/incorrect data points. Red flags.

- Most of the problems here stem from lack of experience + flat out greed. Sadly the average enthusiast are not familiar with all this and have no way of knowing any better. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or make a post in Florida Tuning - Toyota & Lexus group.

Although this may lead to bickering, disagreements etc - that wasn't our intent. We simply want people to be informed when spending their hard earned money. We encourage you to buy ANY tune you wish, but hopefully now you can make your decision with honest data. I personally do not support lies, manipulation and flat out greed.
