Slow start - no hurry. Had some coffee, and off to a Tint World grand opening and mini-car show. What the heck, maybe I'll win something...Was kind of surprised, that for a grand opening, not one sales person came up and said a thing! No welcome, hawking product, nothing. I was part of a crowd of 4 people wandering the lot. All the hipters with the old rides were at a table behind the Chevy wagon.

So, Tint World grand opening "car show". No promised exotics, unless you count a Vette that I think was really next door at the auto repair place. Missed two that I'd have liked to seen; a 55 Chevy Cameo PU, and a 52 BelAir, that both left after I went to park, and came around the corner. Anyway, on with the show.

Well after 7 years decided to properly tint the rig with ceramic.......should have done this years ago .......what difference. The A/C is one of the Tacoma's weaknesses but this should definitely help.

What windows did you get done, to what levels? Is the back original, or ceramic over factory?
Getting about that time for Little Big Red.

 

I got all windows done. I had the front ones done at the dealership when I bought the truck. Back windows only had the smoke tint that comes from the factory, which pretty much had no UV or heat protection. I got 35% driver and passenger windows and 20% all the way around on the back. Wanted to stay legal up front. From what I had read, ceramic is excellent no matter how dark you go.

 

did the front two and the windshield and man did it do a difference! Highly recommend it!

 

I'm debating getting front windshield done, I have a couple of chips already, one I've had filled and one that I haven't, knowing my luck, something will happen as soon as I get it done and I'll have to to replace the whole windshield

 

TX requirements

Windshield: 25% VLT tint is allowed above the manufacturer's AS-1 line or top 5 inches, with less than 25% reflection. Front Side windows: Must allow more than 25% of light in. Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used. Rear Window: Any darkness can be used with side outside mirrors, 25% VLT without.

 

tinted 50% in the front with ceramic it’s pretty awesome helps the truck cool off sooner!
