Now that you mention it, it's probably off a M/C. ID of the shaft hole is around 7/16". The area he was climbing you might have gotten an enduro or trials bike into. A good find for an 8yo.

I figured it would fit over the front and that I would just tuck it between the tailgate and swingouts in the rear.

hmmm.. thinking about ordering the double cab short bed + shell Tundra cover instead. Based off size comparisons.. I think it will allow for the extra height, width, and length. Checked the Sequoia and Land Cruiser covers as well.. but they would be short in a couple areas too. The Tundra cover is the same price as the Tacoma one as well.

Let me know how it goes for you, if you don't mind. I was thinking of a cover for mine as well, and we have similar dimensions.

will do. I have been procrastinating getting an actual carport and or building one.. just been trying to gather info on what I can and cant do. I know what I want, where, and how.. just not sure on city codes. no HOA.. but the other stuff just get so grey. This cover will at least work in the meantime and will also hopefully light a fire under me to figure out the carport.. and at a minimum, finally motivate me to get the hood repainted and the paint in general back to good condition before putting a cover on it.

Yeah, I want to avoid having premature wear on my truck if I can. In the summer I keep my truck pulled in as far as I can into my garage (halfway along the front doors) during the day, and I park it under a tree for the evening/night. Having a cover would help on the weekends, and if I don't drive for the day.

Got some kind of exciting news at work today. I'm sure most havent heard of Titans of CNC before.. love or hate him.. he's somewhat influential and known in the industry. Not a big fan myself.. but gotta give credit where credit is due. He does do some good, and the fact he is trying to get people more exposure to the machining industry, US based especially, is always a good thing. Anyways, him and his crew are coming to the shop Thursday to do a piece on us, interview, etc. We'll see how it goes!

You'll need a permit to do a car port. I've asked the city about one as well as putting a full garage in my backyard.

Oh, so I am putting together a roadside/recovery kit. As far as snatch straps / kinetic ropes go, what's a solid reputable brand (not trusting my ass to some Amazon mystery meat, hell no!) and what would be the most basic bitch setup you'd recommend as far as ropes and sizes?

Obviously some D ring shackles, soft shackles, and then one decent size rope?

I went with stuff from Factor 55. Soft shackles and their 7/8" kinetic rope. I think they're considered one of the more 'Gucci' recovery brands but, like you said, I'm not about to trust some BS Chinese knock-off from Amazon.

Add a receiver shackle mount and I'd say you're pretty good.

    Oof yeah, that's spendy!

But, if it's something that people's actual lives might depend on it not snapping and turning into a projectile... that's OK in my book. I'll save my pennies.
