Somehow I burned out my cigarette lighter. Probably a bad connection. It melted a plug and apparently the connector behind but it didn’t actually burn out the fuse. So I believe the wiring is still good but I need to replace the connector. Any ideas on the best way to do that? I will replace the port itself if it’s bad but the connector is definitely fried.

for now I’m going to pull the fuse since I assume it’s still hot.

    Sorry, couldn't help it.

Have you tried to see if a local pull-a-part has a Tacoma you can steal another one off of?

I either have 4 of these sitting in a box in my garage or I tossed them.

    I'll check later

okay dumb question perhaps... are they not just spade connectors? use to cut them off and replace them with spades and some shrink wrap or the ones that have the wraps around them.

One cheap way would be to just get insulated connectors at an auto parts store and skip the connector housing altogether. If you want to keep it OEM you could go to a wrecking yard and get the components from a wreck.

Yeah, I actually do think they're just normal spades in a plastic housing. Good call. I'll just strip them and attach new spades. I like the idea of being OEM but when it's behind the dash it's kind of obsessive at that point.

i mean my nephew was looking like crazy one day when we were wiring up his electric fan, couldn't find the connector I looked at the fan crimped a couple spade connectors on the tabs, and taped it all up in the loom and told him if he ever found it id set that up. never did need it

Wow. I honestly didn’t expect that. Cheap enough maybe I’ll just do that. Thanks!
