I have replaced my battery. It went completely dead .Everything is working fine now . I wanted to know if there is a low battery indicator that will come on? It never did . I replaced the oem instrument panel a few years ago. If it is a light bulb is it an easy fix ? Thanks for your help.

You can head here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/resources/warranty-owners-manuals and grab a PDF version of the owners manual.

It does show a battery light on the dash. I think it would really depend on how attentive you were. All the lights should come on before you start the truck as a lamp test, so check that first to see if the bulb is out. Otherwise.. I'd be willing to bet the battery was doing enough to work until it wasn't.

I believe the battery light is to indicate low charging voltage and not low battery voltage. It's usually a sign to check the alternator and the wiring.

When you turn the key, all of the indicators should come on to show you that the bulb is not dead. If it doesn't then you should check the bulb.

The battery light is really the charging system malfunction warning light, if it comes on with the engine running it indicates a problem with the alternator.
It should come on key on engine off and go out once the engine is started.
The light has nothing to do with battery condition.

Have you checked voltage with the engine running? It should be 13-15 volts.
