Looks good. One thing the Colorado does right is having full time AWD on all trims. 2024 Tacoma only makes this available to the Limited.

Yep. You can see AEV in the license plate frame on the front bumper.

They've offered a front locker in the ZR2 since 2016.

Is it AWD or just a part-time T-case that can engage and disengage automatically? The latter will burn up if you leave it in the "auto" mode off road, as seen in the Wrangler 4xe.

I don’t believe that is correct, looking at the interior pictures of someone’s Trail Boss it shows 2H 4H 4L and auto.

Bummer, you're both correct. Car and Driver article from the OP, incorrectly states AWD. Further research from other sites and official documents only mention Auto 4WD.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
There are 2 Options for the GY Territories, A and B type. A milder set like on the TRX Raptor, and I believe the Bronco has the more aggressive version in 315/70r17. I bought the more aggressive version last year. They were barely taller than my 285/75r17. So much so that I probably could have done much less cutting when preparing for a "35". I also bought the MT Baja Boss MT in 35X12.50r17. The Boss is much taller and wider, whole nother size up.

Yep, hence why they have a leg up. Would be nice if Toyota offered that as well.

Who gives a shit. Only idiots are signing up for a $55-65k midsized pickup + $15k in dealer markup.

Front locker vs disco sway bar is the tradeoff. Don't think they have a leg up, IMHO. Wash. I have yet needed a front locker as I don't hard core wheel. Those that do fab stuff up anyway. But, I have always wanted a disco just to make the .10 percent trail to the destination more tolerable and the 99.9 percent road to the trail safer.

And yet, it Toyota offered a front locker instead of the sway bar disco, we'd all be singing the praises of Toyota for finally giving us a front locker. But since they didn't, we need to find a way to justify our support while hiding our disappointment.

lol! Toyota has been disappointing me for years, not even sure why I hang around. The grand illusion of reliability I guess. Think it has become more internet lure than reality. Have very long list of repairs from over the years. No idea if my ‘21 will be any good until it has at least 100K on it. 31,500 and counting…

Who is "we"? I was typing to my needs and opinion about a specific tradeoff. I would rather have a disco than a locker. You seem to have a different agenda. There is no "we". I ain't dissapointed.

Edit: In fact, I am elated they put in something I have been wanting.

I tell myself I'm buying a Toyota for the perceived reliability, but the boredom of them makes me spend far too much money on mods and switching vehicles. I really need to chill out.

I really like how my truck rides on road without the sway bar. My only regret is that I haven’t done it sooner.

That's a nice looking Chevy truck. But her looks don't fool me. Quality and reliability matter.
