    Hi Guys,
My son and I have inherited a 96 tacoma project truck. All of the hoses and relays are disconnected. We are slowly working through the engine bay and trying to get things together.
Today when filling up the radiator we solved one or two quick leak issues. However, towards the back of the motor compartment we had an ongoing leak. If you look at one of the pictures, my pinky is pointed at a silver nozzle where I assume one of the smaller radiator bypass hoses go.
I think once I get this hose on, I won't have any more coolant leak. Can anybody on the form give me some detail or pictures about where this smaller hose may go destination wise on the motor or throttle body?? We can't figure out where the hose would go even if we had a hose to begin with :).
    Thanks!
    Jason

Should go to the throttle body. I’ll go check on my 2.4 low boy

So on my 2.4 that hose runs from that nipple to the throttle body then to and EGR valve and back to the heater core supply pipe. The 2.7 should be similar.

There's a steel line that supplies hot water to the heat core.....
and that line at the back and bottom of the engine there's a small 'y' that branches off right there...

next there's a squiggly hose that goes from that y right up into the egr valve to preheat it....

there's an out nipple on egr valve .....and that shoots a small hose into the IAC under the throttle body...

then there's an out on the IAC and that shoot back into the engine....

and that is needed so it knows to adjust for cold idle and regular.....

Doesnt show it very well here but there is a smaller nipple or y on this thing here..

and thats where the water returns back into the engine..

All this keeps the egr shut when warming up.....

and the warm water controls the IAC opening....

For the air supply to IAC.....I made a wide loop of hose..out around the back on engine and came at the iac in a different direction.....

....to de cluster all that mess....

To everyone who replied: thank you so much. We will spend a bit of time on the truck today and tomorrow to see if we can fix this part up. Maybe we can get the coolant system solid, then continue on the rest of the wiring mess. I'll probably be posting more questions as they come up, so bear with me. I'm a newbie here. Greatly appreciate all of your input! Enjoy your day.

For those interested, here is what I am working with. Formerly a 1 owner Taco. 394K miles. No rust on frame. Motor was rebuilt, then truck sat for 9 years.
Reworked all the gas tank, lines, etc., and slowly working through the rest of the engine bay. Located in the Greensboro area of NC.
