I think I tried to buy a Toyota truck from about 5 different dealers over the past 3 year. They either wouldn't sell me a truck, had mark ups. I gave up trying. I'd buy a GW pick up built 100% in China makes no difference to me. If those were sold here, American money would be invested in the production process. I read that Chinese built Teslas had a higher quality rating over the same models built and sold in the US.

The tires on the old Ford Crew are the ones I want for my Tacoma. Thin, tall, military muscle grip. Have not been able to find them anywhere.

Yeah, they had early turbo problems (we will have a different style wastegate) and they also had some crank bearings going bad. Some comments in the forums mentioned that there was a bad batch of bearings causing the problem. I am wondering if it does not have something to do with 0w20 oil. But yeah, something to pay attention too.

yes something to look at. Just hoping this engine the 4cyl turbo does good. This video is kind of informative on the different turbo 4cyl power trains from ford, gm and toyota.

Confirms the Tacoma will run on 87 octane fuel and not premium. Sounds like this 2.4l is not quite as similar as the transverse mounted as you would think. 50% of the parts are new.

Most of todays trucks are hard to look at, my heart is with vintage, but to get it anywhere near today’s performance takes a pile cash, and still wouldn’t be as safe.

Have to admit those tires look pretty sweet.

They do. Remember when skinny and dog dishes weren’t cool (think that means I am getting old) …ran that tread pattern but 12.5” wide on Jackman wheels on my ‘76 F250 Ranger. Super Swampers and Buckshot Mudders were the trendy tires way back when.

Jesus. Imagine trading in a trusty 5.7 and that happening. As long in the tooth my 06 taco is shit like this makes me wonder…feel like I’d be giving up the best vehicle I’ll ever own.

Also betting many of those with this issue paid a premium to get this truck in 2022.
