    Happy July!

A friend of mine backed up into my truck last night and smashed my tail light, bumper cover, and did some very minor damage to the bumper cover support rail underneath as well. We were all standing outside watching this happen, and it sounded way worse, so thankfully there was no body damage, and of course nobody got hurt.

She is okay going through her insurance (says it’s her first accident ever, and her rates won’t go up), or paying cash, and either way, I’d like to just order the parts and put them in myself.

    1. Pay cash or go through insurance?
    2. For the bumper, replacement parts, or a proper aftermarket bumper?

I'd be helpful and keep the 'books' clear of anything (your potential carfax, her insurance) let her pay you cash for the parts.

If she's thoughtful, she'll take you & your SO to a nice dinner for your labor.

If I was hit anywhere it would be mod. Hands down.
I do happen to have a couple OEM lights in excellent cond. already boxed up. lol. Only took them off for smoked tail lights.

At least she was in her vehicle when you got rear ended. SR or Pro taillights and an aftermarket steel bumper is what I'd be considering.

The stock “bumper” is plastic space filler. I’d go with RCI.

Southern style off-road’s bumper is only like 20 pounds heavier than stock. Looks good too.
