When schools still had field trips.

We went to Diary Farm back in the days before the fancy milking parlors .

The brand New Bethlehem Police Station and Library side by side

We went to NYC in 6th grade.

The New Jersey Shore in junior High and the Philadelphia Zoo.

    Those stick out .

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Funny how the league President had a new pick up every2 years .

While the coaches and parents bought equipment so we could play.

The joys of being 12 years old and chasing the umpire and he runs away.:annoyed:

Interesting for sure, I mean it could have a reasonable explanation but....

That said, the racetrack people probably didn't even make minimum wage when I was a kid. Nor do I in sitting on the Board of a nonprofit.

Though in those days a Top of the line tricked out 4x4 pick up might have been $7,000.00

So. Where can one buy this type product? Seriously (don't care about logo).

Would be handy when traveling in Euro land, as I always wind up with more coins than I want to carry in my pocket.

Edit: Found them on Amazon. Of course.

But that makes me want an old one now. Anybody got one with a Pontiac logo? :D

I worked at a Atlantic Richfield/ARCO gas station pumping gas ,changing tires etc .
Started at age 12 across the street from my parents house in Springfield VT.
    1968.
    1.25 a hour.
This was before the age of the auto shutoff pump handles and I learned real quick to listen carefully for the sound of the tank filling up otherwise you got a gas bath.
It had a rubber hose connected to a bell so when you were working on a car you knew someone was the pump needing gas.
We sold “ rubbers “behind the counter also.
Six volt batteries in cars ….remember them?
Always jumping them in the winter.
How about single weight oil in a cardboard can with a dull oil spout that if not done properly you crushed the can side and got oil everywhere.
We also sold kerosene for peoples heaters in their homes.
Vw beetles that the owner still had to pop the hood to fill them up.
    Recap tires,remember them ?
I bought a complete set of 14 inch recaps in Bellows Falls VT mounted for 44 dollars in 1977.
Setting ignition points with a feeler gauge because a dwell meter was a tool that cost too much money.
    Setting timing by ear.

Very cool, my folks had a 77 or 78 used. Loved that car but they didn't keep it long.

My first car was a 65 Chevelle Malibu convertible. The rear plastic window was so yellowed I couldn't see out. The first time I tried to back out the tree lined driveway I hit the gas instead of the brake and sideswiped a tree. Oops! 16 years old and not ready to drive.

I remember when 4x4s had front solid axles, manual transfer case shifters and manual locking hubs. My ‘87 Chev V10 had all 3.
