What are you powder coating? Touching up sucks so if it’s going to get scratched rattle can bed liner or paint might be easier.

    Yeah, if it's armor that's gonna get dinged/scratched I wouldn't bother

I do. But, as mentioned, depends.
Powder isn't the be all, end all.

I use it on the bikes, ALOT.

But, armor, things that get dinged, chipped, etc... paint.

But, I have a shop I've used a few times. They're a commercial/industrial shop, but, they do outside stuff as well.

    Cool. That is easy. Paint.

Want it done right? I can set you up with my guy. He blasts, primes, and will paint if you want. Did my winch bumper, etc, also, blasted, treated, primed, and paint the complete underside of my stupid duty last year. Worth every penny.

The other option is to DIY it, but be ready for it to sit in your driveway for weeks at a time, rusting out, then you having to go back to sand it, prime it, wait a few weeks because you are busy, then paint parts at a time over a few more weeks. Then even more weeks later put it on. That’s how it went for me at least…

I'd go buy rustoleum rattle can from tractor supply. Get self etching primer, bed liner, and black enamel in your style of finish (I use matte). Acetone/paint thinner/mineral spirits on a rag and a good wipe down. Let air dry, prime everything with a light to medium coat. Second coat of primer after flash. Let flash again and then about 3 coats of medium light bedliner, and let that flash out over time. Then 2 coats of enamel. If you have to touch up its very easy and cheap to blend in

Hah love the enthusiasm and support. I just want to make sure I make an informed decision. So naturally I use you guys here for that lol.

Precipice on what sort of build I truly want, since it is a daily as well thats gotten 39k miles in less than two years. Heart leans towards this kind of bumper, especially after some of these Vermont roads I’ve been playing a bit in.

Hah and yes, the wallet’s feelings are being considered as well

I like the paint since you can grab a new can of enamel and give the bumper a once over and it looks like you freshly sprayed it

According to Drew (and correct me if I am wrong) but if you re-gear (even with the added weight) your MPG should still be decent.

It can be yes. Your MPG has quite a bit to do with throttle input, especially on the highway

After being rained out yesterday I finally got it back together! Still need to do some cutting and get her aligned.

put in new cv axles, a tie rod end, spc uppers, changed the front diff fluid and replaced the fill plug with the Lexus plug ( no more hex), replaced wheel studs with longer arp Lexus studs, repainted spindles, hammered the shit out of the firewall and fenders, oh and landed on 35s
    :bananadance:

Yes I rub but I’m willing to cut out the offending parts

So, for hammering the firewall, fenders, and maybe even pinch weld, what is the stuff you threw on top? Seam sealer?

Roofing sealer, forgot what thread and who it was but it sticks great and is made to be waterproof. I still have 3/4 of the gallon and did Matt’s truck already. Don’t buy any, just take some of mine!
