That was next on my list but first I wanted to make sure I wasn't going insane in the fact it wouldn't fit. I watched multiple vids and didn't see anyone with this issue so I wanted to double check with the TW world.

It’s been a while since I installed mine. I vaguely remember having to monkey with them a little to get them in. But don’t hold me to that. I DID have to work really hard to get the rack to line up with the nuts.

I won’t say that I ended up on my back with legs in the air, because well… that visual would be too much. Lol.

I feel like I had to do that when I installed mine. Just make sure the sides of the nut still flare outward a little so that when it’s compressed it works as it should.

I ordered the jacknuts everyone linked to on Amazon. Every single one keeps breaking. Are we certain these work like the ones Meso provides or maybe I'm dumb.

I think the retention kit uses the mounting screws so *should* go in at the same time. You could mount, then come back and remove one screw at a time to add the handles. I had a bugger of a time getting all my screws lined up, so wouldn’t want to go through that process.

Take my input with a grain of salt. It’s probably been 2+ years since I installed.

Yes, I'm having the same problem. Sunroof model. Jacknuts went in just fine on the forward / light holes but the back / hook holes are too narrow to fit the jacknut. Thinking about slight enlarging the holes with a drill or grinder

not sure if you installed it yet, but I installed my overhead rack after the handle were released. wasn't that difficult. Just unbolted one side, held the rack on my head and installed the handle kit, repeat for the other side.

I got the email notification they were in stock today so I placed my order.

I have a few things pending that require the headliner to drop so i'll be removing the rack again.

Yes, I took a drill bit and widened the hole a tad. If you don't have a drill bit, go ahead and take a file to open the hole just a bit.

Finally got a chance to try to install the rack today. I bought a filer from hf for the rears because the jacknuts wouldn't fit. Moved onto the fronts and had issues with the passenger side rear on the dome part, the jacknut was loose. Wasted all the extras ones, now I have to order more on Amazon and hopefully it works out. lol I hate when the meso vids make it look so simple.

The jacknuts linked above i ordered them and they came today but the bolt that you use to mount them doesnt screw in easily like the included jacknuts. Why is something so simple always turns into a pita for me lol
