I'm glad there's some communities out there; on average though it's tough to find something that hasn't devolved into the lowest common denominator.

In other news I am a dipshit and I realize I bit off more than I could chew; it's technically an exterior wall and so there's insulation to contend with too.
    Fudge.

Sooo... any recommendations for handymen who do good work out in the Maricopa city area? :D Basically the whole ass wall is gonna have to get redone w/ new drywall. Fortunately it's only 6 feet wide.

Just stick with a side by side washer/dryer.

The size of the room (at least in the 'laundry room sized room realm') won't really affect price. Taping and mudding corners is the tricky/laborious part. Butt joints across the sheets in the room are relatively easy and quick.

TBH, just stick with a side-by-side set of units, like almost everyone else.

I added a stackable in one of my rentals. Cost prohibitive (big time) if I hadn't done it myself.

I also, on Monday actually, just finished remodeling my brothers laundry room. It also has the vent/water pipes in an exterior wall. It would have been cost prohibitive for him as well (and we didn't even need to move a dryer vent (harder) or a 220v outlet (easier)) if I hadn't done it all for free for him.

Whatever you chose, best of luck.

Ehhhh the whole reason I'm going stacked is that there's no damn storage space inside the house, it's one of those open floorplan dealies. I'd like to not have the vacuum sit in the living room, and one single shelf above the washer. Trying to use the space I have smarter, and an extra 5 square feet or so can make a big difference.

Alright, just be prepared to pay a bit, that's all.

None of it is overly difficult, but you do need certain toolage, which is always nice to have IMO.

Is it possible to add in vertical storage in a bathroom? Even if it’s a small closet?
Any weird corners that could have wasted space because of design? Like able to open drywall and simple door for more shelves etc?

I'm fine with posting the actual floor plan later and letting the peanut gallery go to town but that'd be after I get home from work. There's an annoying corner where there's a little display alcove in front of the master bedroom door but it'd be too small (I think) to make much difference. Not much otherwise.

I did that at my old place. Stacked the washer/ dryer so we could have a vertical freezer next to it. It worked great and didn't have to relocate anything. If you really want to move the electricity, just ensure you flip the breaker, and it should be an easy move. Even if you have to raise the outlet because of how the line was run, you'll be fine. It's going to be hidden. For the vent, again, depending on where it runs, up through the attic, out the side to an exterior vent, it's simple. Wear gloves, as any tin banger will tell you. It's super sharp and cuts like a freshly sharpened steak knife. Feel free to message me with any questions. Also, @Chipskip has worked with me on numerous projects and could probably be of some assistance as well.

AC power freaks me out but I've added outlets and rewired switches in the house before, so that's not too scary. But the way the whole thing is setup plus it being "exterior" wall that borders the garage means I gotta rip out sheetrock and unstaple wire at the bare minimum just to move the outlet.

And for those curious, the floorplan:

I have the optional walk in shower floorplan which I hate and am also tearing out cause it broke.

What do you think about running the dryer vent exposed? Cut a hole in the ceiling above where the dryer will sit and just run the duct down and connect it to the dryer. You could paint the vent pipe to match the wall or build a small bulkhead around it. Being that the stackables are so tall, you wouldn't see much of it anyway. For the wiring. if you can't just unhook the wire and pull it up through the top plate on the wall, then just cut it off above the top plate and splice a new piece of wire onto it, in a junction box of course. You'd still be able to get access to it through the attic if the need ever arose. Cut the hole for the new dryer receptacle box in the wall where you want it then drill a new hole down through the top plate above where the new receptacle would be Of course you have to access the top wall plate from the attic (This is not a good time of year to be up there). In some cases you can get a fish tape through the paper on the insulation and pull the new wire in w/o removing any sheet rock. Of course you would not be able to staple the new wire to the stud but that's really no big deal. Hope this made some sense.

Put the laundry in the garage on the opposite side of the wall, boom instant big ass closet. Beer fridge in the garage and viola!

    It'll cost, but...

Anyway, I feel your pain. Wanted to swap ours to a different wall, but routing the dryer vent to an interior wall the over to the outside was a longer run than I wanted to mess with by the time I snaked it around other water and gas lines. Not sure about people who design houses but shit they must be high 97% of the time. Not a single interior wall of our place lands on a joist. Moved the entire front of the house around after we bought it and that was maddening when I replumbed the bathroom.

That's my other problem and/or project with the house. The garage is always a trillion degrees inside because there's no ventilation. I'm getting solar screens for the 2 little porthole windows but I gotta put some kinda ventilation fan in and maybe blow in insulation?

Yea you can buy the sheets of foam insulation and do the door and bags of loose insulation and spread it yourself above the garage. Can even add in a exhaust fan from garage to attics space
