Took a somewhat over grown trail and some of the little branches left some small scratches (I avoided or cut down anything that wouldve cause serious damage). They dont look very deep. I realize fixing them is sorta pointless since im probably gonna just go out and do it again on one of my adventures but they are annoying me.

Sorry for the friday-esque post but im still learning all this vehicle maintenance stuff.

Meguires scratch x is pretty good for small ones. Big ones will require a polisher.

It's pinstriping, if you're gonna travel off the beaten path you'll need to get used to it.

The first ones hurt the worst. I recommend finding another overgrown trail and getting a branch to slightly bounce up and down as it drags down the side. The sine wave pattern will make the others much less noticable. Each new layer of scratches is easier to handle. Then once or twice a year you can cut/polish/wax/treat your paint and see which ones come out.

I'd check the detailing subforum here for advice on paint/clear coat treatment. It's a bit like asking, "how do I make a nice lawn?" Or "how do you grill your steak?".

A friend once told me that the best way to deal with scratches is to simply get a very noticeable dent. Then no one pays attention to the scratches.
They should buff out. I'm too lazy to deal with them regularly but my truck is also silver and they blend in better than other colors. I just polish my truck nice and pretty every spring. That way it's ready for more that summer. Lol

A beer or two. Followed by a few shots of your choice will help you forget the little scratches.

Adding more also helps make them stand out less, make the other side match.

I went through some woodiness these past few days, it will be interesting to see what the mud is hiding this evening.

Every time my uncle bought a new truck he would kick a dent in it. “He would say the first one hurts the most”.

I like the pinstripes I have on the side of my truck, it makes it feel…..well seasoned.

I do not like the two gigantic ones on my roof from a tree branch that some jackass failed to trim that was hanging over a roadway.

Like someone else said, Mcguires or however you spell it makes good stuff. Although you might just be wasting your time trying to remove them if you plan on taking it off road often. You could get the truck wrapped but that’s expensive AF.

Definitely on both sides. Between nature retaking the road and the crater sized potholes, it took me like 40 minutes to go 5 miles lol.

Why is everyone so mad someone wants to clean up some scratches lol. Not everyone wants their 45k truck do look like a beat trail rig.

I like to wheel my truck a bit but also have it looks clean and nice when not on the trails.
