Outbound lights are real good, I have a combo but my go to lights are GloWorm. Just can't say enough good about them. Pricey...yes. Worth it...yes.

    Yeah.
I rarely ride at night so didn't want to spend a lot. I've used ones like this: https://www.amazon.com/Night-Rechar...770&sprefix=mountain+bike+ligh,aps,110&sr=8-9

A buddy 3-D printed a GoPro-compatible mount for my helmet and sells handlebar mounts on Shapeways. They provide plenty of light even on the lower setting, and battery time is pretty accurate.

Either way, I recommend having a good light on your helmet first, then a decent one on the handlebars as backup. But, helmet for sure.

If I was going to do a lot of night riding, I'd go with one of the brands listed. I've heard Outbound has great customer service, and I've seen NiteRider show up at a race and loan lights out.

Now I know people are going to laugh, a headlamp. Most headlamps have removable headbands that allow you to disconnect from the light. So you undo the straps then reattach the straps after you route it through an air vent in your helmet. You still need to use the headband around your dome plus wear a helmet but mine was actually comfortable. For the record, I rarely ride at night and I’m cheap.

I posted a while back about wrist pain and looming for reviews on the Cane Creek stem. I ended up buying a Redshift stem, got it mounted and got a 25 mile mixed ride on it last night. The ride had some gravel and washboard dirt roads but mostly pavement. Initial impressions are really good. No hand numbness, no wrist pain and I really didn’t notice it otherwise. When I stayed seated and really tried to put out a lot of power, I could notice a little movement in the stem, but nothing worth really talking about. I did go from a 60 mm, 7 degree stem to an 80 mm 6 degree stem so there was some slight change in geo also. I want to take it for a long gravel ride, but I think this will end up being a very good investment for my riding comfort.

    This and that...
If any one is looking for a new enduro let me know. This one rips.

In excellent condition, Large Black and White colorway. It has worn a full Ride Wrap (95%) coverage before ever hitting the trail. It received a brand new drivetrain at the end of last year including new GX cassette, derailleur, Chain, and OneUp front chainring, installed at Outbound Mountain Sports, Evergreen, have receipts. It also just had a full tune including a regular fork overhaul and seal service at Commencal Headquarters located in Golden, CO (4/13). Having the US headquarters here has been a huge benefit since the shop specifically works only on Commencal and turn around time is fast and the work is quality. The rear wheel has been upgraded too as of last season to a Spank 359 Boost XD 28H 148mm. Inside both wheels you'll also find NUKEPROOF HORIZON ADVANCED RIM DEFENSE.

When comparing this bike to others please take into account these specs:

    - Progressive geometry (Seat tube angle was a pleasure on climbs)
    - RockShox Ultimate front and rear
    - Sram Code RSC brakes
    - Upgraded rear wheel and hub assembly
    - Installed tire inserts
    - Full RideWrap
    - New rear tire will be installed (7/3)
    - Less than one season on new GX cassette, derailleur, chain ring, and chain.

She’s been great for trying to keep up on the climbs around here in the Front range and so fast on the downs. Will miss the steep seat tube angle this thing has. Just ready to try something else. All honesty I could easily go back to Commencal after this bike.

Great ride yesterday. First the ride then I put the bike away and drove to a mountain lake and jumped in. You don’t have to tell me more than once to go jump in a lake. ;)

SLO July.jpgGot a ride in before the heat... Low 80s forecast today.

Hey - some input from the bike mechanics in TW please. I put a new chain on. My old one was elongated quite a bit. I guess the dist is much more abrasive in these parts!

Now I get a skip on my most used gears and smaller rear gears under power... not always, but enough to be really annoying.

    Is my cassette Kaput?

Finally logged a few miles on Transmission. It is as advertised. Silent and smooth shifts. Still trying different controller positions. Wolftooth oval comes tomorrow. Going back to round after years of oval chainring really shows the difference oval makes in power delivery.

What drivetrain are you running? Have you set limit screws? B screw? Micro-adjust barrel? What does your cassette look like?

    Thank you @SenatorBlutarsky
    - Sorry for the generic question. They are as follows;

    Casette: SRAM Eagle X-Glide 1275, 10-50 tooth
Chain: SRAM GX (replacement with same - new.)
    Derailleur: X01 X-Horizon, 12-sp.

Would it all need adjusting only to accommodate the new chain? The only change I've made at this time is the chain. The drivetrain was cleaned and I put in a couple of rides -without issue- before replacing the chain.
(Not doubting - just to confirm... I've always sucked at these minute adjustments.)

    Thank again!

Most likely you need to look for a cassette if slips under power.
