I've owned two vehicles both 20 plus yo; I felt I had a good grasp of what was going on with them mechanically however this new Tacoma has some features I am unaware of and I'm interested in learning more about. I'm wondering which systems are different on newer vehicles that I can familiarize myself with- ex. Self cleaning injectors- I have never had. Are there other systems that I can look into? I can do the research if I can get some suggestions on what I should be looking for.

when you go into your garage and here a noise toward the rear it is normal. it is the fuel system doing some kind of test , someone here can explain better but it is very weird. the truck is alive even when not running,

This is the emissions system performing a vapor leak test. Provided the fuel tank is at or below 3/4's of a tank, a vacuum pump will run (this is the noise you hear) to pull a vacuum in the fuel tank and a sensor will monitor for loss of that vacuum. If the loss exceeds a pre-determined amount, a pending DTC will be set for a small evap emissions leak. If a second test determines the same outcome, the CEL will be illuminated to alert the vehicle owner of an issue and the emissions monitor will be marked as failed.

I have read through what was suggested, thank you. Was there a differnece in our braking system, like not using a traditional booster?
