That being stated, give us some details of your plans.[/QUOTE]

Turbo I was going with one from cx racing that has .81 A/r turbine and .70 A/r compressor that is good up to 500hp wanted to start at 8-9 psi then move up. turbo manifold I was going to outline a gasket in 3/8 thick steel plate and cut it out of the plate and so forth. I want stock or move up to the 6 speed auto from the 2016 Tacoma model if I could but I'm not to well diverse in transmissions. I know that the gearing in Tacoma transmission high like first gear I think is 3.85:1 ratio but my goal of changing the transmission is to improve the mpg with the added hp. With the 2016 Tacoma auto 6 speed has the 2 overdrive gears which is nice. The 1gr-fe engine is a great built engine the only weak areas when adding boost that I have read is the pistons and rods but that heads, cams, cam shaft, and engine block is pretty solid from what I have read. moto qi is build one and that do a treat to the part to grant most hp of the bat I don't remember what it is called. but that what i have put together so far.

Torspd can help you on the “weak” areas.
If anyone should know, it’s him.

As for the transmission. I’d do the valve body on factory A750 and keep it to 400ish wheel.
You’re going to have a HARD time getting a 3rd Gen auto to bolt up to the 1GR. If if you do, I have no idea how you are going to make it work? You’d be better off going with a manual swap in my option. That is, if you just don’t want to use the auto that’s in it now?

so Swapping it out for the 2016 6 speed auto would be hard and going manual would be an easy route. I was lookin more into the convo about the valve body swap and just read that article for that A750F trans take it from 350 ft/lbs to 450ft/lbs with a COMPUSHIFT system.
    he is the link.

LCEngineering makes an adapter plate to bolt up a GM automatic transmission as well. Which if you could mount a 4L80 behind the engine, or 70, but either of them built, then they would both handle plenty of torque. You still have to control them though. A manual would be bolt in but still a lot of ancillary parts.

IPT transmission can build your current transmission if you want that too.

You can get to 500hp pretty easily with some bolt on and a tune unlike the Taco :D:p

Great video, the most detailed deep-dive I've ever seen on the 1GR-FE. Encouraging words about how stoutly the bottom end is built. He thinks the stock 1GR crankshaft is good for 1000 HP. (Not the cyclinder skirts, rods, or wrist pins, however.)

Stock crank has been proven to hold ~800-850 wtq.

I haven’t seen that dude since the mid nineties. He was still with Nissan at the time. It’s nice to see he still holds a passion for what he loves to do.
