The other day my wife and I were getting coffee and we saw a guy with a t-shirt that said "pork rub" but in the porn hub font and format, we both chuckled

an update on the solar panel. I have seen it pushing 61watts to the battery. The truck was sitting for a day and the solar panel kept the battery charged enough to keep the fridge running in 90 deg mountain heat, the fridge dropped 2 degs (35 to 37) and the freezer 7 degs (5 to 12 degs).

MrMobile, the company told me that at higher altitudes the panels would be less efficient. I cleaned the panels and have seen higher charging rates.

I have a cascadia 4x4 hood panel. A fridge, dual batteries, constant power to my cigarette lighter in the dash, and in the bed for the fridge. Camped a couple weeks ago, ran my air compressor, without turning in the engine. I don’t know about watts but my volts stayed at 14 +. They are agm batteries and it’s been tuned for the voltage. It’s great. No ice to mess with. Big fridge for food.

I’m curious if anyone has done a quantitative assessment of the benefits of the air dam? I don’t assume Toyota put it there for looks alone, so I have to assume it’s doing “something.”

No science behind this, but I noticed a +1-1.5 mpg difference between stock off the lot vs stock minus the air dam... Albeit that was only about 2000 miles about 5 tanks of gas. After that I put on some bigger tires and wheels.

There’s probably not just a thread but an entire sub forum. There are two answers. You’ll probably see equal amounts of both.

I’d venture to guess it’s one of two things…

    1. Something
    2. Nothing

    :anonymous:

I removed mine because I just didn’t like how it looked. Haven’t tracked my MPG religiously, but I haven’t noticed a difference and it’s my DD.

I wish I would have known this before I paid $100 for the Kicker tweeters. I notice a difference, but not a big enough one for the price.

That trim piece pulls out very easy. I pulled mine and painted it. Only problem (for me) with that is I carry a double wall steel water bottle everywhere I go and the paint has been chipping away. I've painted it twice already and it could use it again.

I have been curious if I could sand the chrome paint all the way off and try to dye the plastic black.. Haven't found much on doing that though.

I wanted to do this too, but I was afraid I would ruin the air dam. How difficult was it?

I’m not totally sure about this but I think you would have to polish the plastic. Black plastic just looks grey because it’s all fuzzy and scratched.

edit: mine’s painted and needs to be painted again.
