    Hello Everyone,

I have a crew cab/double cab Tacoma and I was wondering what seat covers does anyone recommend? My areas of concern are, do seat covers restrict side air bags? And Im looking for seat covers that are child seat compatible.
I know that's a lot of information to digest but I'm a novice in this area.

    Thanks

Seat covers will say if they are air bag compatible. Pay attention to yr/make/model.

    See: Katzkin and Clazzio.

It was a splurge but I went with Clazzio and love them. If I recall they are designed so that they do not interfere with any of the airbags. We have a big husky who rides in the back seat and the material has held up really well going on a year now. For the car seat the anchors are easily accessible, and I cut one of those foam yoga mats in half as a boundary layer to help protect the middle seat from wear.

Fit like a glove so kind of a pain to install. Cut your fingernails short and go slow with the head rest openings to avoid tearing.

I really like my Clazzio covers. They are airbag compatible and look factory.

Most of the seat covers made are air bag compliant. It really depends what your looking for...do you want the truck pimped out, or is a seat cover that is very durable, such as carhartts, that look like you drive a truck.

Clazzios here too. Love them. Agree that they are a bit of a PIA to install, but worth it in my book. Have this "dog hammock" in the back for our pups.

BTW, ordered black with dark gray leather inserts and stitching based on various photos in this thread. I like them and so does the wife (which is the most important thing ;)). But I thought the inserts would be lighter gray since they look lighter in these and all of the photos I've seen. However the dark gray is almost an exact match to the OE seats. If you want something lighter than the OE seats, go with the light gray. Tons of other options too of course and they have terrific customer service.

Really depends on what you need and budget.
I and several others really like the Rough Country neoprene seat covers.
They look good, hold up well and for me good because they can get wet (kids and the beach = seats can get wet)
If you are styling then probably not the seat cover for you.
Also the attract dog hair - I take duct tape inside out and have to get the dog hair off that way it's effective but you should know going in the dog hair is going to stick. But, hey they clean up easy - you know like ice cream spills, even melted chocolate candy bar smears (believe it or not I use of all things carpert cleaner to clean them). AND - they are not expensive !
Good pics here tread #40 (mine pics are somewhere but these are pretty good pics)

When I bought my truck, I bought a cheap pair of Dickies seat covers until I could decide what I wanted. My dog rides in the cab with me and I found fur stays off of them. Rips in the seams appeared after 3 years, so I just bought another pair. Protecting my seats and not attracting fur is what I want most. They don’t look as nice or custom as the above pictures, so it all depends on how you want them to look and how much you want to spend.

Do seat cover companies create accounts just to drum up business every 3 months?

Seems like a seat cover thread pops up like clockwork despite there being dozens of threads asking exact same question every month or so.

    Use bath towels. :broccoli:

If you ask me threads like lifts, what oil should I use, and I installing big ass tires are more common.

The thing is Clazzio are really expensive. I have seen them up close and they are beautiful and extremely high quality. So for sure if you want that classy luxury look then it is worth the $$$$. It's kind of like when you go hiking do you wear jeans or a $1000 suit. I use my truck in the woods and on the beach - it gets dirty, kids drop food on the seats, dogs sit in the back and occasionally even in the front so the seats can get dirty and wet and the damn dog hairs. I would have a heart attack if that stuff happened to $600 seat covers . . . . but my $200 (somewhere around there - can't really remember) RC neoprene seats - no problem.

True dat. We were deciding between the dealer offer to completely reupholster the seats in leather (Katzkins) for $1600 or DIY with Clazzio seat covers. Couldn't justify the Katzkins so went with Clazzios (leather combo) at around $600. There were a few points during the Clazzio install where my fingers were begging me to change my mind, but in the end they turned out great. Clazzio does offer vinyl and PVC covers for a couple hundred less and others here swear by them. Agreed though, like a lot of things in life... it all depends. ;)

I looked at these after seeing your post and noticed they offer "standard" and "truck" sizes, which one did you go with?

Standard size for the Taco fits great. (Had the same brand in our 2nd Gen Tundra, but that was "truck size" for sure.) Would have gotten gray for a better color match, but it came out of a RAV4 that had a tan interior (we traded it for a new Venza).

I’ve got the dog hammock in the back, but I also got KTJO covers to protect the factory leatherette seats.

$150 on sale ($250 not on sale still a deal for the quality) for both front and rear, great fit and finish, and honestly they’re softer than the oem seats.
    https://www.ktjo4x4.com/collections...oducts/products/tacoma-leather-seat-covers-3g

KTJO was banned on here so not always talked about favorably, but I’ve purchased a few things I’ve been really happy with (lit interior door handle bowls, electric locking tailgate) and want to get some other stuff (driver front and rear seat grab handles, auto folding mirrors), the things they offer seem like the things Toyota should have installed from the factory, add a nicer feel.

Thank you, my dog will appreciate that! This place sure lives up to the hype of helping find ways to empty the wallet, and I don't even have possession of my truck yet!!

Doh . . . I vacuum out the floor mats and it never occurred to me to do the seats - I just brush off the crumbs and cheerios, then if dog hairs, go at it with the inside out duct tape and if need be scrub off the ice cream and candy bar smears. Man you saved me a ton of work.
