Years pass I’ve ventured toward Red Mt, but the view from that knoll keeps pulling me back especially if it’s open!

Think I'd keep it weighing in 2k over GVWR.

    Ha I know right!
It’s not for the light hearted or the unseasoned for sure! 6k$ in suspension is a start and I don’t take my weight lightly!! Lol pun intended

    I would, and have/did/do.

Frank weighs in at 5800lbs. Hasn't had a sway bar in 11 years. Igor hasn't had one in 4.

If if fat, it's not that bad with good suspension. The smoother ride FAR out weighs(ha) the slight tippy feelings at times.

500lbs is a quarter of 2000lbs over GVWR

I'd keep a close eye on your frame and rear axle. I can only speak to 1st gens but the weight and bouncing around on dirt roads has caused many cracks in my rig.

He weighs a full ton more than frank. Sway bar is the way to go.

    1. back in cel service..
I’m right with ya, from what I’ve seen… and what are hilux friends from down under also say…. Seems the real weak point to our trucks is the frame they bend too easy. 0.0625” thicker frame rails or some boxing in key stress points would make a huge difference, if toyota accountants would only listen…. but then they couldn’t sell us a tundra… lol

they just don’t make steel like they use too…
humm I might be dating myself…..
Thanks for the offer! All fixed up.

What was the verdict on spherical bearings for the lower bearings on shocks? I'm due for some.

Front lowers, I always use SS now. Get 30K on them.

    FKSSX10T-F1

you also want to be sure to get the F1 tightness, which at least doubles the life.

Tim doesn’t stock them, but could get them the last time I asked. @TMFF

Edit: And for all the other (non front-lower), I like the hardened steel FKS10T-F1, which are slightly cheaper and still last quite a bit longer than COM10T.

Edit 2: Here's my history of mileage with various setups: https://adventuretaco.com/rig-revie...xt=ADS Coilover Spherical Bearings (resolved)

As Dan mentioned, the F1 spec is key. I am not using the stainless version tho (FKS10T-F1) and getting very long mileage out of them. It may due to some rubber (I think they are rubber) outer o-ring seals I got from Tim. Almost 30K on them ATM. These are on the front lowers.

Anybody have a recommendation for some quality led garage/shop lights? Permanent for the ceiling, not portable.

where do you get them then?

nice interesting with the rubber. @TMFF sell that as a kit?

yes he does. And sell the SS ones I see.

I got some pretty affordable LED tubes just off of Amazon and they work good. Shit load of light and if you get enough of them the shadows won't be bad.

These are what I got. Lots of accessories for mounting and extension cables available. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DNPL2VC?ie=UTF8

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DFYNZT7?ie=UTF8

I just got a plug that goes into a light socket so the switch still worked and then just screwed them into the ceiling.

Like Mike, my misalignments are centered as well. Might be different for us though, since we're on stock LCAs - you might need something different with the Solo's.

I got my spherical bearings from that link in my post - offroadwarehouse.com. Bought a bunch (16 I think?) of them before I even knew that Tim could get them, so when they run out, I'll just buy from him.

I run essentially the same thing as Monte, led tubes from Amazon. I then used one of those wireless controllers people use for holiday lights to have them on three different zones. Plenty of light and so far 6 years of no problem.

I've had a few of the Amazon lights fail. Mine are just attached to my rafters connectected inline with one another and the thermal expansion/contraction will pull them apart after a few months. For how cheap they are I think they are worth it though.

huh i never had that happen to mine in my uninsulated garage. Probably experienced 140 degree temp swings all the time.
