Any pics of the "night splint"? Or a good description? I'd like to know about it.

    Hiya Sue!
Spent the day doing as little as possible, used my old cane to start, then for balance, now finishing the day watering in front without it. No COTA show tomorrow. Best to just be barely useless for a day!

Thing is, could you take their winters? Or summer up there and winter in TX?

I grew up there. I know my feet would hate me if I went back. Beautiful state though.
And, my finances just haven't got far enough for two homes!

I grew up for the most part in CT but don't want to go back. There's no one there I remember and don't want to deal with the winters. Couldn't afford to live up there anyway, so I'll just deal with the summers here.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!!

I can sympathize with everyone having aches and pains - been fighting a hip and leg issue for a while. Scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. Barely slept last night trying to find a comfortable position. Oh, well. At least I'm still here to feel the pain.

    Good Morning 6
Hope the docs figure it out and you get relief. When it starts affecting your sleep, the trend starts downward faster. Wise to seek remedy. Have a good day despite the discomfort. :hattip:

I answered the question, does a tree in the woods make a sound when it falls? My answer is no. Found a large oak on the ground yesterday evening, 50' from the house. I was in the garage, door open, didn't hear a sound. I had just mowed that area an hour before. It broke off about 10' up, and the top smaller branches were under the power lines at the road... so they slapped the lines but didn't break any. Got lucky. There's 75' on the ground. Glad I wasn't mowing close, I might not have heard the crack. I pay attention to the tree line, like that's going to help anything.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/achers. There's a cars n' coffee in a quaint little town not far from here this morning but it runs from 8am to 11am and I don't quite feel like just jumping in the car and heading over. Besides, SWMBO wants to watch me make a mess trying to do hash browns.

If you wore out the hip joint I have 3 words: direct anterior approach. They go in the front rather than the side. Far less cutting of muscle tissue, much quicker recovery, massively more stable joint post-op. Good luck.
Wow that was lucky! We had a smaller birch fall in our yard last year. Fell 'just so' and didn't hit the house or the garage. Whew.

    Morning all:

Same here, I'll take the aches, but pain is a different animal! :(
My hunting buddy lives with constant pain in his back, and sometimes his thumb and foot, he wears a nitro patch for the back pain, normally he only feels good on the first day of its application, then it's downhill for the next two days.
When we skin a deer out and need to pull on the hide, his one thumb will be in extreme pain, I keep telling him to try not to do anything that he knows will cause him pain, I can do that and it doesn't bother me at all.
Guess I'm lucky, I might be shot and every muscle and joint is stiff after doing certain things, but I have avoided the pain part so far! :fingerscrossed:

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, I've missed every show I usually go to this month! But, they'll still be there next month, and who knows? Might be 5* cooler!
Leg seems back to normal - my problem feels like it starts at the hip joint going "flop", which makes the knee buckle. So, have a brace on to start just in case!
Everyone have a great day, and keep all your body parts happy!
