Tested out 911 Motorsports jack extension accessories. These have a 1.5" bore and fit a turd gen 4Runner OEM jack without modification:

    AIL4fc9xxwUkbx0YNUZgqIxj7xefpnZ9EVzxFkwt_98990bca8fc637b2aae007febb729e39e25ecb5e.jpg AIL4fc8xiCouda-UskkHRLLTPEWecqvQScWKI-RW_e586335e7ca4f1d36ace2f6bed86b5cf76209d39.jpg

The saddle has cutouts to fit frame rails and round tubes (like sliders). To spread the ground pressure, I'm also using a Reese hi-lift jack base with a few diagonal cuts in the locator ring:

    AIL4fc96BCsMC_nIWarwRSvVqNdY7KuzTx0Es_1X_a86b13f9364120c81055d7426c1d59080643b4ab.jpg AIL4fc9DN9mT-o86IrfFj6yKHLUfoC2h9e3wsCk3_d3a234c5f8265d582a8323b6d3c9f826eca85305.jpg

The turd gen 4Runner OEM jack has a 3500 lb capacity, 500 lb more than the turd gen Tacoma OEM jack. Only thing to watch for: since the jack's swivel plate is wider than the ram, the 911 extension tube can tilt. You need to position the jack so the extension tube remains aligned with the ram.

That jack is going to look weird mounted outside on your soon-to-probably-be steel rear bumper + swingout for the 4R...

^Ha! It's for the Taco. And the whole point is to keep it lightweight and mounted in the stock location.

Yeah... But they perform well and it's the first time I've changed them in 3 years and potentially since the truck was new

Anyone have recommendations for a cheap bottle jack that won’t kill me? My OEM Tacoma one just gave up the ghost.

Send it to TRD and maybe they'll upgrade the next gen one?
I mean they did it with the perfectly roasted marshmallow Tundra

A jack needs to be short enough to fit under the axle with a flat tire, yet be able to extend long enough to jack up the frame and get a front tire off the ground. Most hydraulic bottle jacks sold in local stores don't have that kind of travel range. I see two-stage bottle jacks sold online which may work well: https://www.amazon.ca/Torin-ATH80402XB-Double-Welded-Capacity/dp/B09Z37N3BS/

Before you order, I suggest fully deflating a rear tire and measuring the clearance under the axle, to make sure a 6.7" tall jack would fit.

Ruh roh. Passenger rear brake looks like something exploded? Brake line seems fine, coming from that wheel only. No brakes.

Wheel cylinder likely. Coincidence with the work that was just done, likely (although they did take off your front end for seemingly no reason).
