Which XTOOL D8 did you purchase for the security system? Does it matter?

So I went ahead and purchased the XTOOL D8 which I'll be able to reuse indefinitely. There are two versions - corded and Bluetooth. I went ahead and purchased the corded. I can verify that I was able to turn on the security/alarm system with this tool.

Man, that's very tempting. Will allow me to bleed the ABS block too.
And program a Lexus key card.

Realize this is a little older thread, but feel its still relevent...

    In this related thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/glass-break-sensor-add-on.664387/

@LRockPro mentioned the following: "Compustar alarm it can be integrated with ur factory remote. There DAS2 sensor is shock, glass & tilt all in one."

Has anyone integrated this into the factory alarm? The additional features and price are interesting and looking see if anyone has any feedback.

I found this youtube video talking about programming the device and features: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eA4uMurGQkc

What all was or would be involved in installing this and integrating into the factory alarm?

    TIA

ETA as I re-read this it looks like it was talking about integrating a full alarm system and not just the sensor as I originally thought...

Is anyone selling or willing to make a harness for this to move to the center console? Have a manual transmission and don't think I have a free location to mount this left of the steering wheel... I can barely operate a wire stripper let alone put the harness together... lol

Do you happen to have a link to the connector?

Also what setting does everyone set theirs too?
    Mine is currently at 9.

I found the eBay web site where I purchased the plug.
    Toyota Tacoma 2012 - 2015 security monitor plug w/wiring.
    The seller is toyotapartsandmore.
I paid $19.99 for the part. All I needed was the plug but he includes the monitor/ switch with it.
If you goggle 489122 Tacoma that will take you to his web site.

The thing is with push to start vehicles all you need is the vin and the right device to clone the fob signal. The vin is accessible from the windshield.

The glass doesn't need to be broken to steal the vehicle. If all you want is an alarm to deter smash and grab thieves this kit may help, but it's not going to stop the vehicle from being stolen if someone really wants it.

they break in, plug a device into the OBD that runs a script and allows programming a new key fob that they brought along to your vehicle. they don't need your fob to hijack the car.

I have a 2023 taco and I'm thinking about installing the GBS. I think I have the factory alarm and I think it's on but the only thing I'm worried about is the hood ajar. When I lock myself inside with the fob and I open the door the alarm goes off. Does this mean I have the factory alarm? Also I never have the the hood ajar warning.
