Hey I have a question about my Tacoma. If you can help that would be awesome.

So the new tag lights I bought are basic LEDs that come with red and black wires but the Tacoma OEM wire harness is white with black strip and a blue wire.. which wires did you tap into? Asking because I'm never the best at wiring things up. But I'm here to learn.

Why do you want brighter lights for your rear license plate? I just bought the wiring kit that turns them off when I place the shifter in reverse. I find that at night the factory bulbs, create a clear and wash out the camera a slight bit.

Help me understand why brighter lights for the license plate or better.

Hey man sorry for the late response. I'll post a picture tomorrow. It was kinda a bitch to put on (hope you have skinny fingers). It works fine.

Sorry man. I'm forgetful. So I'm trying to upload the pictures. They are hard to see.

But what I did was underneath the round tube against the square tubing I attached my plate to a hawse bracket I had with some self tapping screw. Made a small pilot hole and then put the plate on with those lights. I reused the OEM wiring harness because I didn't know where to get new plugs and spliced them in to the respective sides. If I could do it again I personally wouldn't mount the hawse bracket so high on the square tubing. The bracket doesn't function anymore so worse case scenario on a trail my departure angle I'll lose a plate. Oh well. Once I get better service I'll upload my pictures.
