Truck Camping Photo Thread

Had a great mini vacation camping inside the race track @lime rock park in Salisbury, CT went with my brother and his wife and a couple of friends weather was perfect low 70's low humidity during the day down in the low 50's at night! First time out camping with a tent in the back of my truck but it all worked out.

 

Hah. I spent most of my life in California and been all over the west/southwest and I feel the same way about wanting to explore the other side of the Mississippi. Too many places, not enough lifetime.

 

Been my setup for a couple of years now. I changed some small things but I love it!

 

You guys up in the north have some of the best looking camping pics. It’s so hot and flat down here in MS, that we only get a few months out of the year to camp.

We did five-days with this setup and never had to stop for more food once.
Kept everything very cold. Switching power between the 12-v on the truck while
driving and the Jackery while stopped worked great. Tested the 200w solar panels
as well and they performed. Look forward to all camping adventures.!

 

Went camping near the Uncompahgre Wilderness. Was at about 11,200 feet and got a bit of snow, but didn't really stick. Also drove up Engineer Pass.

 

When were you there? We were in Silverton last week, went up Cinnamon Friday but got snowed on.

 

This week. Rained/snowed every night Mon-wed but days were mostly nice. The dog pic is from a hike on wed and was really nice.

Just back from my first visit to Moab, Arches, canyon land etc...dispersed camping at the head of Horsethief Canyon ...great trip...report and more pics in a few...btw: made the side room myself a few years back for my LR Disco2...just getting around to adapting it for the Runner...great for quick overnights or weird ground...

 

Just on the Oregon Coast for some time with the toddlers…. Well… time for them to give us kindergarten colds. Yay! At least the kids share.

 

Very nice, enjoy! Don’t miss the toddler virus sharing phase. Never been so sick.

 

But we're stronger for it. I guess.

Developed Altitude Sickness.
My limit is 7000 feet elevation.

Camped inside short bed at Lone Mesa outside Moab, Utah. Did not use the Topper Tent because a storm blew in.

And yes, I’m going to turn 79 soon!
