This has just confirmed that I need to pull the bed decals off and the badges on the doors.

We had to say goodbye to our pug on 11Mar2023 (14 years old) and our gecko on 29Mar2023 (18 years old) and all of the pain of losing those two within weeks of each other is there every day. Stay strong!

First car of the day. It’s a hold over from yesterday. They told me how to fix it but not what’s wrong with it. :annoyed:

Its so clean...I personally cant stand badges and decals. It is the first thing I do on every vehicle I have owned. You wont regret it. Heat gun/fishing line (or floss) and some rubbing alcohol and you should be good to go. Although I will say the adhesive that Toyota used, particularly on the bed decals was some of the toughest stuff I have ever dealt with.

Did the bed decal leave a lot of residue? I have been curious about using a rubber eraser wheel but I do not know if it is necessary.

Yes it was obnoxious....Im not sure if the fact that it was literally brand new (a couple hundred miles on the odo) made it better or worse. The bed decals were infinitely worse than the badges. The badges were simple as the rubber adhesive was easy enough to "roll up and off" using the side of my thumb aka do not use your nails.

The bed decals on the other hand.....I ended up having to use a clear coat safe super fine/finishing rubbing compound. That was a bit ore involved than I thought it would be but at this point you cant even tell. I used chemical guys P4 Precision polish. I also personally wouldn't use that wheel...I don't trust things like that to not fck the paint up as there are too many variables I cant control.

Yeah I really wish I had it when I put the new tires on my miata recently. I was using brake cleaner, a brass brush, and my finger nail.
