I would like to do a small lift, maybe not even the highest setting. Regardless, if I purchase the TRD lift kit for my Tacoma (install myself, shouldn’t matter) how does it affect warranty? I have the Toyota platinum 10 year/100k mile warranty and I rather not screw myself out of coverage. Since the lift kit is TRD can/would Toyota deny certain warranty claims?

I doubt it would affect it since it would be a Toyota option

I’m concerned with the warranty I have in place, not so much with that of the lift kit itself.

Did you find any answer to this question? I'm wondering the same thing and was wanting to do the factory/dealer lift kit option if it didn't void the extended warranty of the vehicle.

I did not. Tried calling a couple dealers and they wouldn’t say anything yes/no only that they will honor warranty if they install it for $1,500+

It does not void warranty, but the components will be treated with a seperate warranty period and only if its something obvious with manufacturing.

It's an authorized accessory. Back in the day TRD Superchargers didnt void warranty either.

Thank you. That’s what I was thinking. My concern was the needle bearing, CV axles and such since the vehicle is lifted. I have an extended warranty through 2033.

Thats a whole lot of warranty haha. I get the worry but you should be ok.

Honestly with 3rd party warranty as long as the customer isnt a dick we dont even mention the mods. But this will not affect you warranty in anyway on any of the items.

It's never a bad idea to have a good reputation with a shop though.

It’s a Toyota extended warranty not 3rd party. My hip was destroyed by covid so working on my own vehicles for a while besides fluid changes is out of the question. I got the 10 yr/100k warranty for very cheap.

Sorry to hear about your hip. I hope it heals back alright. Can I ask what you paid for your warranty? I haven’t bought mine yet since I can still buy it through Toyota up until October 2026. I believe the dealer quoted me $3800? But from what I was told I can buy it through any dealer so if yours was better I might want to give them a call!

This is the info you need. $3800 is way too much. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/toyota-extended-warranty-plan-purchase.791269/

That’s too much, check with other dealers to get pricing. It should be about 1/3 of that for most people.
