That's a good one too. If I can give some radio nerd input:

    https://www.amazon.com/BAOFENG-Batt...mzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc

If you're going to get a GMRS dedicated radio (which, you do legally need a license to operate, BUT there's no test, just a 35$ fee), get the Baofeng UV5G. It's a clone of the UV5R with a different software that locks out being used for anything else.

Point is - the UV5R has so much in the accessories department. Hand mics, belt clips, antennas, batteries, cradles, etc - it's nice to have that backup. Ross - that one you sent is nice, and the waterproof factor is mint. I love the USB charging which DOESN'T come out of the box with the UV5G/R, I only wish that the charging port was on the side/bottom instead of the back.

    upload_2023-10-10_13-48-28.png

The UV5R isn't that much better. You either use the cradle from the factory, or get one of the better batteries that CAN be usb charged. But it uses this thing, instead of a generic USB mini/micro/C port.

    https://www.amazon.com/Extended-Bat...&sprefix=uv5r+battery+,electronics,91&sr=1-18

You can also get one of these, hooks it straight to the 12V in the truck in the "cigarette" power outlet.

    https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Elim...feng+battery+eliminator,electronics,86&sr=1-3

    ...I'm fun at parties :)

o_O waited 120 days then they told you about this? Wow, now I really don't know if there's a difference between SOS and SSO :D

Jokes aside, damn, I hadn't heard about that happening. I guess it's relatively good news that there is new ownership and they're working the orders? There was one in New York (can't remember the name) that just one day up and vanished, told everyone to pound sand.

SOS at least had their lead time posted when Eddy owned it. When that other guy bought it it went to total shit and that's why it closed now

I spoke to the new owner and I’m still in the fence as to whether I should try to get a refund thru PayPal. The new owner has an existing business that seems well regarded. He seems to be a decent guy and a few of the engineers came over. I’m not sure he’s legally obligated to fulfill existing orders but he intends to. We’ll see. I was really looking forward to the bumper and already had purchased the light bar for it.

Thanks to ABA180 for gifting me a chunk of Flex Seal tape to fix the crack in my tonneau. It will do fine until someone decides to sell their OEM one.

Thanks by the way. I cannot tell from the conversation on the phone if I would've missed the boat so to speak on the ones currently being made.

I might go ahead and see whats possible as per getting a chargeback or just waiting. Seems to be end of year for tacoma bumpers (assuming they come) though :/

Yeah my order is being changed to 20" light bar and to have a bull bar. Not sure if that will sway my decision though.

I think I was one of the last to get their sliders.

yup, I heard about it last night.......They had a lot of good stuff. It is said that a lot of companies are going this way. Having a company with both a great fabricator and a good to great business management strategy is extremely rare these days. Glad you were able to get all of your stuff from them @Chasespeed before this happened. I believe your front stuff is from them correct?

Sounds like we are all getting the same now, regardless if we want to :/
I think he’s going to take off customizing the parts in the future to just make it easier to pump them out.

Yes, correct. It wasEO that burned me.
Also why I went with the 4wp rear bumper. In stock, and on the truck in a week.
I'm all for US labor, etc. But, if no one stocks it, I need to pay, ahead etc, no longer interested. Been burned too many times.

    Happy Bday Mike @Pugga
