Made it up to Acadia this weekend to Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula. We avoided most of the leaf peepers and took in some fall colors, relaxed hiking, the granite lined Maine coast and a nice sunset.

 

Truck lives at the shop during the week so probably not til the weekend, but yeah im downtown off Cabot tucked away. And thanks

 

always make sure the dog does NOT drink the seawater..especially on long road trips...

Yep. We have one of these that we use to take with us, with plenty of extra water to refill water jugs for humans and the dog. She managed to get her tongue wet for one lick before she was corrected with a sharp "leave it". She corrected and did not lick any more, then refused to take the water offered her but then drank for 2 minutes back at the cabin.

I just wanted to give a BIG thanks for posting that FB link, I got ahold of the guy this morning and took a beautiful 2 hour ride one-way to buy this OEM step pad for $50 bucks. Half tank of gas round trip so maybe $30 to $35 bucks for a total of let's say $85 bucks, not bad considering Toyota wanted close to $400 bucks lol anyways thanks so much man I REALLY APPRECIATE it...

Still need to make the borders but the hardest parts are done. I think I'm going to go ahead and put the time into making some jigs for these to.make batching them easier.

Top of 391 is blocked. Gotta roll down Main St, and jump on over by Interstate Plumbing supply...

But, shouldn't be too bad

 

So anyone who was at the show would remember that the crew setting up the metal rails that hold back the crowd and create the pit in front of the stage....Ran out of bolts that hold the parts together...
These things..



They bolt together with carriage bolts and washers...
So someone bought cheap aluminum bolts instead of steel...
and Static-X takes the stage and starts bouncing up and down and they start Bled for days...Wayne has his back to the crowd and is bouncing up and down to the beat and the whole crowd surges forward and...the bolts fail...several of the barriers give and fall forward into the pit...The band stops playing and Wayne continues to strum his guitar (I'm pretty sure it was a flying V...) and then realizes something is wrong...turns around and sees a pile of people...
SO he instructs the crowd to play mother may I and take 3 giant steps back...
Quite a night...quite a show...I have video of it somewhere...

 

I'd very much like to see that! Was this upstairs? Or the theater?

 

Big theater at the palladium worcester...I haven't been there in forever. But it was just the sloped open floor with the bar at the rear...It's been completely renovated since..

Yup that’s the flats of Holyoke. It’s not a great section but to be honest most crime there seems to be targeted; i.e. violent crimes towards known individuals and not strangers. One of our very close friends and recent wedding caterer has a walk up window to order food that you can throw a rock at across the canal. It’s called Blue Door Gathering (edit - limited hours now to just 8am to 3pm). She’s been in that location for years and had little to no issues so you should be fine.

 

Haven’t used 391 in a bit until last week and that closure threw me off big time haha

 

Yeah, my bro lives up the way, by thr hospital, never an issue, but, I have had people try to clean my van and service trucks out at some spots.. They're usually not looking tangle though, just opportunistic, or, as mentioned, very targeted.

Had to hit call in the neighborhood a month or so ago... spaced out on the way out(I knew it was there),got all, sorts of turned around, ended up by Tsubaki, etc.. I was mad as hell at myself

 

Not that one but I saw them quite a lot back in those days. Never got to see Static X before Wayne died, unfortunately.

Love Powerman, been a fan since True Force. Still have all the discs including AFD, aka the Lost Album

I remember the first show my brother in law Steve and I went to with just us 2, was in 2007-8. DRI, Cromags, ST at the Palladium. We were in the pit, backs to the wall, and occasionally I had to jump in front of him if a stray body came flying since he just had one of many knee surgeries. I remember him saying at one point "I'm 53 and never been to a show like this in my life, this is fucking crazy and I'm loving it..we gotta do this "just the guys" show stuff more!"

 

Yeah, I don't think I've seen anything in the theater since. Was a few shows I wanted to see, too big for Upstairs, just never made it. Last things I saw in the theater was Ink being slung @ Tattoo the Earth last year, and the photo/art gallery they set up during the New Metalmand Hardcore Fest last month.

PM5K, not that don't like, just, I dunno, was never on my list. But, never seen them live. Probably change my tune live though...
Trivium is like that for me. Like older stuff. Matt Heafy I'm a fan of(very talented, stand-up dude, like Dave Grohl), saw them open up for Megadeth in Boston a few years ago, changed my tune. Killed it live.

But, DRI, been a fan for a LONG time. More my speed(love my thrash). They play a lot at a local spot back home, but, haven't been able to time that right for a while.
