I recently got an aftermarket set of these from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TMRVKQ2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). I searched for a while for OEM ones that were the correct color but wasn't able to find any. It was easy enough to paint and clear coat the aftermarket ones though.

The only gripe I had with them is the fact that the tabs that clip into the grill needed to be bent a good amount to be able to actually clip in. I was able to use the one OEM one I have as a reference for the way the tabs need to be. If you don't have an OEM one to reference, you'll just have to work at it until they seat.

Over the years I've seen many Tacomas with that piece either missing or replaced based on the difference in color. Why is that?

Are you able to zip-tie the OEM ones back in? That's what I did to my 2012.
