^Also this is a 5-8 kW unit. What heat rating is yours, 2 kW or 5 kW? I remember reading somewhere you don't want too powerful of a unit, because it doesn't burn cleanly at part throttle.

 

mine... I dont know. but how i use it is full on and off no in the middle heat settings. and its not because i dont know how to set the heat lower its just because ...... I dont want to.... actually i dont know how but it works good. on before bed for 10 minutes then off. on before I get out of my sleeping bag then off. its all you need.
