I need help with a wire gauge size and approximate length . It will be running from the front engine bay to the back inside the cab .( I already took out the rear passenger seat to make room ) It will be used to charge my EcoFlow delta 2 via the victron 12/24 20amp dc dc converter . I’m trying to follow this on my tacoma. I ready ordered the dc converter, the circuit breaker, the xt601 connector . I’m planning to get help on installing this. Can’t do it myself . Any tips too? I may need a switch to turn the unit off when not needed or when engine is off so it won’t drain my main battery. Any switch you recommend? Sorry I’m a total newb on this . https://youtu.be/s_-9vj-hF1M?si=zf2HPATq2rPX7BXu .

looks like 12 gauge ought to be pretty great; might be able to get away with 14. Assuming it’s about 20 A

The key thing with electrical work is properly fusing your runs. All the fuses should be rated for the item with the lowest current rating (typically is your wire).

What is the maximum amperage your converter will draw? Look up the user manual and find it in there. That will be the amperage you should use to size wire and fusing.

Does that Victron unit you selected have a trigger wire? Some of them Ive seen have a small wire you can tie to a keyed 12v source. That way the unit only runs when the truck is running, or key on, or however you wire it.

If you want a dedicated physical cutoff switch Id look through BlueSea's website and see what they offer

One other thing to consider: If you go with 12 gauge (or smaller but don't think I would go smaller), the ring terminals you will likely use to make connections in the engine bay will be a little bit flimsy. 10 gauge and larger you get access to more heavy duty crimp lugs. Downside is you'll need to get a tool to make those crimps or solder them but they are definitely more robust. Good luck.

A good crimper plus some adhesive lined heatshrink make for a pretty bulletproof combo.

The Harbor freight hydraulic terminal crimper pays for itself very quickly when you have peace of mind knowing the crimps are solid, and not just hit with a hammer
