I know a few people that work here and it’s pretty solid content. They are in Iowa which may or may not work depending on what you need.

Well, ran into my first issue with my front diff.

Turned the truck on today and it wouldn't come out of 4HI even though my knob was in 2WD.

I turned it on 4HI for a bit thanks to Tuesday's pleasant surprise but swear I disengaged before parking.

I tried all the usual tricks and figured the actuator was sticking.

Nope. The hose that goes into the ADD snapped off at the plastic nipple. Friggin hate plastic at this point.

Could it have built up enough pressure to cause that or is it just brittle plastic to blame?

Either way I'm due for an oil change so I can manually put it in 2WD and see if super gluing the thing will do for now. At least just to keep more gunk from getting in while I figure out a replacement or if I can tap it to replace such a dumb design.

Woa! What does that mean? What is the ADD? Plastic? Shit, I kill stuff. I don't need plastic. Please explain this for me a bit simpler...

The ADD on the front diff is known to get water in it through that breather tube and corrode the motor and limit switch contacts so it doesn't work. When switching from 4wd the ADD first disconnects the front axle then the transfer case shifts out of 4wd.

There are a few youtube videos on ways to attempt to resurrect the ADD.

But I hope that's not you're issue and it's something simple.

Looking at it closer, I think the breather end snagged on something and that's what made it snap off at the nipple. Would you recommend extending it and zip tying it somewhere it won't pull on that nipple?

Edit: Jumping into the FJ swap wormhole, thanks a lot guys

What he said, specifically Qi spec wireless charging. That’s what the logo is - letters Q and I.

Also ADD delete if he doesn’t want to get that extreme yet:

Found a couple right away and that's when I started messing with it to see what was going on. Fully replacing isn't too bad considering. Going to have to wait for tomorrow though. The missus wants to do a date night at ye olde Texas Roadhouse. I could totally blame her for keeping me from my fighting weight but.........yeah it's totally her fault.

You still have the ADD, though.

Tim have you ever considered removing your front diff and converting to 2WD completely? Might get a few extra MPGs, just sayin.
