Thanks, that gets me back on track now. Helpful to know Toyota isn't tapping some underground spigot reserved for elites only :)

When you say cold.... Do you mean like "winter is coming" or do you mean like "Hoth"?

    Not even that cold.

Say a couple or six freezes in the winter. Snow one or 3 times kinda cold.

I've tried both syncromesh and gear lube for the manual tranny. If you drive unloaded or in my opinion below freezing most of the time then i'd say go syncromesh.

-40* the gear lube is clunky for sure but I also find that it warms up within a couple kms. I also find that when it's "cold" but 20*c for the first couple shifts it's clunky but obviously diminishes after the first 2 shifts.

syncromesh is a nicer shifting oil but if you're planning to do truck things then stick with the gear oil. When I tow, haul or just drive on the highway for a long time, you can feel that the gear oil is at the perfect viscosity. Where as the syncromesh feels perfect around town but after long drives and/or loaded it gets notchy and almost wants to grind into each gear

I was perusing the magazine the other day and saw the various greases Amsoil sells. I don't have any serviceable components but, is there any reason to not use the off road grease in automotive chassis components (aside from wheel bearings and u-joints) other than it being overkill?

went with the lazy packs. Not the most cost effective but hopefully it’ll save some time.

    Not who you asked, but...
I use both UCL and PI on regular basis (UCL since 2021, PI since 1980).
    Follow intervals on the bottles.

Fuel additives are one thing, but NEVER add anything to your oil.

So should i be using fuel additives regularly? Is there a certain point when additives should be started? My truck has 32k miles but my wife's rav4 has around 70k miles, should i use it in her car regularly?

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
My 4Runner and Tundra both say 75W for TC (not 75W90). Is that 5W30 manual trans fluid linked on page 1 really comparable to a 75W?
