Anyone have the Overland Torque Tune? What did it fix? Cost? Where to get in North East Ohio?
This 6 speed Auto SUCKS! I read this will fix it.
I had a 2nd gen. for 8 years, so far a much better truck!

    I've had OTT since May 23, 2022.

    Currently running OTT 9, Mild/Spicy...Mild Drive/Spicy ECT.

I can't remember what the transmission was like in the first year of ownership.

All I know is, the truck drives much better now.

The OTT tune is the best money you can spend. I have mild/medium with an adjusted throttle tip-in and it is a whole new truck and I love it. With OTT you pay once and all updates are free including if you need to adjust settings because you made some changes to the truck or you just want a different feel. Expect to pay $400-$500.

Been driving with this tune for about a year. Difference is night and day...That gear hunting used to drive me nuts.
Cost me $400. Very well worth it.

Sounds like you got the wrong truck. Did you not find one to test drive before committing ?

Back to the specific topic. Yes, the OTT will go a long long way of making the truck feel "normal" (as my wife called it), in acceleration response, shifting, some added torque through out, and cruise control shifting(!).
It is THE best mod, hands down, to 3rd Gen Tacoma. Go get it done.

Did OTT just a few months after buying the truck new. I honestly don't remember just how bad the factory auto was, but with the OTT it simply drives like you'd expect is should have from the factory.
It's not fast, it's not powerful - it's a Tacoma that now gets from A to B predictably.

Just did mine last month. Do it do it do it. I have a 2023 TRD Sport with the 6 speed manual and it totally changed it to the way it should have come from the factory. No more “dead spot” below 3000 rpm. The torque range is smooth and consistent from 2000 all the way up. I got the mild /medium setting for the throttle. Best $400 I ever spent!

OTT is a great tune if you’re interested in that one. I’ve read a few people recently have switched from KDMax to OTT.
Some of the complaints were how that tune wanted you at 2,000rpm as much as possible (it’s the sweet spot according to them, damn how the truck sounds and runs because any lower rpm is lugging the engine ). 25, 35 and 45mph were all stuck at about 2,000rpm from what I remember.
Another person said the tune made his truck act and feel like someone just learning how to drive a manual because of the constant high revs it was always stuck at. Another commented how he’d slowly roll through stop signs to avoid the bucking the truck would do.
I’ve tried that tune more than just a few times, but always ended up putting something else on my truck very quickly. If you search the what have you done thread you will find more info about it. Hope this helps

Remember, everyone is just recommending what tune they have as the best without any experience with the other top tunes. KDMax has been great for me. I have OV/VF tune, so they send me the files. Awesome support. They have helped me with everything including windows and tech stream issues, always going above and beyond. Truck runs great also.

Not everyone. I have all three tunes and have compared them a lot over time. OTT is what he was asking about. It’s a good tune. I, however, prefer Blackhawk.
