    So...

If I pour a gallon of round-up down the drain, do you think I can locate the source of the clog?

Looks like live plant roots in the drain pipe. Not good. Most likely the pipe is rusted through or compromised at a joint, leaking water, and the roots have found their way in.

The million dollar question is how do I locate where the break is?

My dude...how do you manage using those split style sinks?

    Nothing fits in them :bananadead:

Actually came from the mud room clean-out. Everything drains like a champ, but the washing machine started spilling over out of the blue yesterday.

It would work for me. I’ve used the same bowl, plate, saucepan and utensils for 30 years. But I hear you. I would love to have a big stationary tub in my garage.

    Naw

Last house I ripped the split sink out and put a single large one

This house I made sure we had a single

Just sticking around to see what the root of your issue is :burp:

Honestly I hate the split sink too. I've just been too lazy to spend the $250 to replace it.

Second and third snake runs retrieved exactly zilch. :(

I poured weed killer down there and I'm going to let that sit tonight. Tomorrow I'll probably chase it with sulfuric acid and let that marinate for 12 hours. Then I'll see what running the hot water does.

I would tell you to go hire a plumber, but getting a tradesman out to your place is so damn expensive

The last plumber I hired cost me 3 grand, and that was only for the rough work. After he was done I had to reinstall sheetrock, tile, cabinetry, and valves that were ripped out. It taught me that if I had spent 30 more minutes with the Google machine I could have taught myself how to bypass a section of burst copper.

Hiring a contractor is admitting defeat. :cookiemonster:

He'd want something welded or fabricated too though so I'm charging for that too
