    How do you run it now? Just batteries and a on/off switch?

    Edit:
    If so, assuming it runs on AA/AAA batteries, try replacing some cells with dummies to lower the voltage enough so it runs like you want. A controller does exactly the same thing, reducing the voltage to the motor.
    These are honestly a bit overpriced, but they actually fit
