A little something every chance we get.
thank you sir! Next is to fix-up the tabs on the flares, and get them on. Then it's complete body wise. I'll put my cover on last - might just wait until he is done with the block - that white stuff gets everywhere!

When my first cataract popped up, my Ophthalmologist told me it wasn't bad enough to address because I still had 20/20 vision.

A year later it had gotten so bad (from my perspective) it just had to be bad enough. Nope, I still had 20/30 vision in that eye.

A year and a half later, right in the midst of the recession and both my wife and I without full time jobs (i.e. with insurance), I went in again to complain about the cataract. She lectured me about how cataracts progress very slowly and how it was impossible for my eye to have gotten bad enough for the surgery; then she started examining my eye and got real quiet, and after a while said, "Well, in the last eighteen-months your eye has fallen off a cliff, you are now legally blind in that eye." To make matters worse, she followed up with, "Your eye is now so bad it will cost $16,000 to get it done."

Given I had no insurance I opted to do nothing about it thinking, "Well, the eye is blind now, it can't get any worse." Bzzzt! I'm sorry that is incorrect; less than two months later all peripheral vision had been erased and I could look directly at the Sun while waving my hand in front of my face and barely see a shadow.

At the time I was working with a gentleman from India and he suggested I travel to India for the surgery as they have U.S. trained doctors and U.S. or European supplies and equipment, and do a brisk business in "Medical Tourism". I called a clinic in Mumbai and they told me the price for the surgery and the Crystalens was about $4,500; I figured another $2,200 for airfare and lodging, and was about to pull the trigger on buying tickets. Another person told me a clinic near where I lived about a local Ophthalmologist who was active in the community to help those without insurance to get the care they needed; I called his office and talked to his assistant and told her my story. She said, "Let me talk to the doctor, hang on for a few minutes." When she picked up the phone she told me the doctor agreed to match the $6,700 it would have cost me to go to India. After I had the surgery I found out not only does this surgeon make care affordable for the uninsured, but he is also the surgeon other surgeons send their botched surgeries to for remediation.

Needless to say when my second eye went round the bend two years later (I once again had insurance), I went to him and not to my original doctor.

What a great story and the whole ordeal that you had to go through due to the incorrect judgement of your eye sight from your first Ophthalmologist.
Glad that you found the best solution to solve your problem!

Good morning. Yesterday was interesting. My wife and I tag teamed Costco so while I was picking up my new glasses, she started with the shopping list. Long story short and $305 later we were out of Costco by 11. Came home and put away the outdoor furniture cushions and raked the leaves off the patio, finished the small project by 12:15. I know some in this thread do not care for Amazon too much but yesterday Amazon hit a home run for me. I was trying to buy a Samsung Tab A8 128GB tablet from Samsung just to recycle my old Samsung tablet and receive a $15 credit, just enough to cover state taxes. :) Samsung wanted me to drive to a Best Buy in DC to pick it up, about a 45-minute trip one way. I ordered it on Amazon, $2 less expensive, and it was delivered around 9pm last night. I set it up last night and did a security upgrade. Today it is all about adding apps on to the tablet and baking sugar cookies. :D

95SLE you reminded me all my Apple stuff will no longer take the updates…iPhone (wifey’s too), iPad (again wifey’s as well), Notebook Air. A fortune to replace it all! Thinking of upgrading to iPhone 13s, iPad mini (for me), iPad full size (wifey), and ditching the Notebook I never use. An expensive endeavor!
Oops! Just remembered all my insurances come due in January! Ugh! Upgrades will have to wait a few more months.
On the positive side at 76 probably our last upgrades…LOL!
    I think I’ll have a drink (6:45 am here!).

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Last Friday of the week! Discovered that the Friends of the Library lunch I volunteered to attend is yet another where my wife is a "volunteer", and having truck apart, I arrive early, and leave late. Free lunch?

Not my day. At least lunch was quick, and I stole the car so I could get back to work.
This morning I checked on the spray UV coat, and was not happy to find spots that seemed not covered. Looked like some impurity, so I thought to clean the spot with alcohol. This is NOT the thing to do. Stripping that one down to do over! Dang it.

Last night, when I was happy, I ordered two more of the UV spray to arrive Saturday. I'm not positive I have enough left to do one over, after I touch up the one I didn't screw up. And at lunch time, Amazon tells me Sunday. So, I can't put stuff together this weekend.

Lunch was not even promised BBQ! Not my day.

I used https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Ceramic-Headlight-Restoration-Kit/dp/B084RQKLV8?th=1 on my truck headlights, it comes with the wipe-on pads to apply the coating that turned out to my satisfaction. It's been a couple year now with no haze.
