has anyone figured out how to black out the stock cluster ugly silver rings IMG_1354.jpg

I don’t know if these clip on or replace
May be an option, to paint black before install

Just follow tacomaholics vid. Super easy. Being a low traffic area, I would suggest using plastidip so you can reverse it if you'd like.

Definitely cleans up the cluster

gonna try SEM trim black I used on other bezels to match. So far the stuff seems really durable.

where’d you get that steering wheel badge?

I bought it from a fellow member who opened up a Etsy shop years ago. Unfortunately he closed it way back.

    that might be better…

other panels I sanded, then etching primer, filler primer, wash prep, but might have gone too rough with the sandpaper grit not being the smoothest to hide little scratches underneath

I did very little prep - used some rubbing alcohol to wipe them clean, and a few light coats of any old standard Rustoleum rattle can black, followed by a couple coats of clear. Easy, holding up well after almost three years now.

The rings look a little silver in the first photo with sunlight, but they are black. Second photo from earlier shows the true color/look.

has anyone successfully changed their console from grey to black
    If so how?

I’ve heard on other cars people removing it, prep, and paint with interior paint
    Possibly SEM interior black
Sounds like a hassle but doable especially if finding a cheap matching spare to work on.

it looks like some Tacomas came with it black but I don’t know if it would be compatible with parts to be 6MT, such as shift boot etc

    this one looks different
Like instead of a big hole in front for shifter it’s small hole for cup holders etc

    IMG_2635.jpg

actually, looks like such a thing may exist from factory. 12-15 manual black

    IMG_2637.jpg IMG_2636.jpg

still would need painting elsewhere though like lower door cards and under dash half, glovebox, pillars, pillar handles, etc

I remember base models having black trim. Look for salvage title listings on eBay.

@nudavinci64 did you finish the paint job?

Does anyone know the part number for the silver radio surround with AC vents with 4WD switch? Have a 2013 X-Runner and looking for this part to install a wide band AFR in the hole for the 4WD switch.
