This is a situation I don't like being in right now and need some advice from you guys!!

Ok, I decided to upgrade my front bumper for a more offroad look and not so much 'functionality' or 'protection'. I fell in love with putting recovery rings on the truck when I started with the bumper hitch one and then the front two and then when I found this no cut bumper addition it was a perfect addition and a project I thought I could do in my driveway.

I received the DV8 Offroad 2016+ Toyota Tacoma Center Bumper with the lightbar additional piece (I wanted more lighting in the front so that was a big deciding factor for this bumper also).

Taking advantage of the warmer weather later in the season this year, I tore apart my truck breaking a bunch clips in the process (those damn mud fenders are a serious pain in the arse lol) and I get to the part where I need to attach the lightbar attachment to the bumper .... the mounting hardware is not in the box. Maybe a rookie mistake just assuming the pieces would be there but now I have the entire front end torn apart so I continue with the installation minus the lightbar. I get everything lined up the way is should be but it still looks 'off' so I put the truck back together the best I can, no lightbar mount so no lightbar installed and I had an appointment to have the wiring for the lightbar and switch which I wasnt comfortable doing myself .. cancelled that appointment.

Oh the other fun thing, the paint is chipped and it is already rusting a couple days into installation.

Needless to say, I emailed raptor racing which is where I ordered the stuff from and they contacted DV8 ... the response actually has me wondering why they sold me this bumper in the first place!!

DV8 has responded to me. They are aware of the fitment issue and will be releasing a new version of the bumper soon. Under warranty, they are willing to exchange your bumper with the newer version at no cost to you once released. Would that solution work for you?

As for the mount for the light I am waiting on their resolution to that and will get back to you as soon as I have an update.

    Thank You,

This is ridiculous. They sold me a bumper they knew had a fitment issue?
I've already torn apart the truck and installed this thing on the truck and am not looking forward to tearing it off the truck and then installing another one and also, do I have to send mine back, drive around with a torn apart truck until they finally get around to sending me one that fits the truck? Also, if I just keep the bumper, how long until they freaking send me the mounting hardware to even finish the installation??

Does anyone know a shop or someone that can finish this installation at a reasonable price or have another reasonable resolution for this? I'm kind of fed up with this whole situation at this point.

From my experience modding Tacomas over the past 14 years, the majority of the parts you get will need modification, either to fit or to coexist with your other mods. Doesn't matter if the bumper is $800 Chinesesium or $2500 made-in-'Mericuh. Had to do this with armor from BudBuilt, MobTown, All-Pro, C4 Fab, CBI...

Loosen the mounting bolts and see if you can shift the bumper to sit straighter, then retighten the bolts. If there isn't enough slop in the mounting holes for you to make the adjustments, you may need to open up the mounting holes with a dremel or other rotary tool.

Also Salty Canadian roads ABSOLUTELY Does not help the chinesium metal or powdercoating. it'll be destroyed, doesn't matter what you do. I've tried a bunch of crappy-tire special paints/ bed liners and the only thing that somehow is currently working, would be Tremclad oil based stuff. Doesn't look pretty, but somehow holding up.

In terms of the bent metal. yup, everyone before @OP has had issues, everyone that owns other stuff from DV8 (roof rack, etc.) has had issues. sorry to hear of another bad experience OP. Either; live with it, Mod it (hammer it into place, readjust it, or even get a wider rubber seal cover), or find a new bumper that you'd vibe with that would have better fitment (ex: the WARN bumper what covers the area where it ties in so you wont see any gaps)

granted, if you get a new one or even continue to run the DV8 you already have; refinish it. Either yourself or get someone local to do it. because the powder coat isn't made to hold up to Canadian weather
