That was just for my 120k service I did myself a couple months ago. Did as much of a flush as I could through the cooler lines and without a techstream or any of that it was the simplest way to make sure I was at the right amount at the end.


Just mentioned it because that's the only time I could think of that I poked around the OBDII. Still don't think that could have cause enough damage to cause the power loss to pin 16. At this point I'm just going to find a closer 12v source and wire that into it. Just to get emissions out of the way at least.

I need to get out of the city and away from these emissions hijinks. Don't even get me started on the wheel tax

The RCI bumper has little plastic bits that pop out to allow rear sensor placement although I think that's only for the parking warning and not the actual blind spot, I'm not 100% sure because neither of my trucks have the sensors.

Don't need Techstream for a transmission service. But props to you for figuring out a way to do it yourself instead of spending 300 bucks at a dealership.

For everyone else following along if you do a drain and fill you only get about a third of the fluid out. However, drain and fill is super easy and you can do it once a year for increased longevity of your transmission, it's fluid and it's constituent components.

Yeah, they're separate sensors. The BSM fit in the corners of the bumper. AFAIK, nobody has come up with a setup that doesn't interfere with the radar. There's a member that had been trying to place the sensors in brake light housings, but he hasn't posted any progress in quite a while.

The hitch skid topic got me looking at the clearance of the underside of the bed.
The hitch certainly messes with the natural flow if things..
Look at all that room without the spare. lol

8 yrs no underbody treatment. You can see where the rust starts...the welds and bolts mostly.

The leaf springs weren't as bad as I'd expected. mainly the edges and exposed surface. (bottom more than top) had some light surface rust that cleaned up.
What the image shows is dry rusty water from cleaning.

I'll get something on it this year.

Today's task was fixing the pull start on the snowblower. Thankfully I've only had to use it once. I've been dependent on the electric start so never bothered fixing the pull start.

My property has no blvd. Sidewalk right to street. After many years of the plow guy throwing snow back onto a freshly clean sidewalk, they now leave about a car widths in the street.
At least the sidewalk stays clean, I guess. Anyhow I clean up the few passes the plow leaves in the road.

The 1st and only time I used the snowblower and I hit a big chunk of road ice. Locked up the auger and killed the engine....
No pull start. Shit!

Of course, it has to always be furthest from the garage.
Had to drag it all the way back.

 

I wonder if we have the same snowblower! I think the pull start on mine lasted for about 5 starts. I’ve been using the electric start ever since. It’s been several years now.

 

I kept on breaking the rope on mine, so I left the cover off and started it with my 38 year old "electric" drill brand new cordless wouldnt turn it. I fixed the rope this year with a

Sucked i a piece of tarp now waithing on a new gearbox to put in striped the brass gear driven by the worm gear, shear pins didnt work/fail

Turns out city ordinance states any snow put on the sidewalk by the city must be removed by the city. Once the plow guy was informed of this he stopped.
