@super_white has posted a bunch of rodent damaged cars on the CT thread. Maybe he could give you an idea or two to eliminate them. Only one I have is start the car in the garage and let it run a half hour with all of the doors closed… Makes the mice sleepy

Our plan is for at least her car to go in the garage, but I'll have to put a mouse trap in there as well. I ordered a couple of mouse repellant devices that are designed to go under car hoods. I'll put one in my truck, just in case.

What is the device you’re getting? I’ve tried all kinds of things in my shed and boat from electronics, peppermint, dryer sheets, etc and nothing has worked except for death by traps. The rat zapper works nice in my shed and would work well in your garage.

Peppermint oil works great. At the first sign of mice, I go up into my attic and spray it everywhere. They quickly leave and it solves the problem for months.

Yeah, I didn't even ask about that - they just optioned it with it. I think it's their default. This is a small tractor so it hurts loader capacity, but I was doing the math on bucket volume vs weight of materials I'm likely to use it for and it shouldn't be an issue.

I have these in every vehicle in our driveway, a few more in the rides that don’t drive much.

Also, I don’t think they like woolwax/fluid film stuff.

What tires did you put on it? I know it sounds ridiculous for a old trailer but don't put cheap tires on it. Almost all trailer tires are made in China and only a few of them are good.

Soak peppermint oil onto cotton balls and leave them around the perimeter of area you want to keep them away. They like to stay against the walls

Some tires off Amazon lol. I had pulled a wood skewer out at my parents but didn't hear or see a leak. I'm assuming that was it. Looks like I'll grab a second set of tires lol. Pretty sure it's too close to sidewall for a repair. As for the wobble, I think I messed up when I checked the bearing on that side. I watched an explanatory video on how to replace or repack them today and he was in much more detail than the last one I watched. Fingers crossed I didn't bugger up the spindle or axle. Plan to take it apart Saturday morning.

My parents put these ultrasonic rodent deterrents in their engine bays. They’re connected to the battery, so it is a little bit of a draw, but thus far neither of them have had any issues with dead batteries or motor turning over and it’s been over a year I think. This was after mice partially chewed through the fuel line on my moms RAV4 right at the top of the fuel tank.

I have these in my truck and wife's car. We found 3 condos in her last car. Tried the old version which attached directly to the battery but it wouldn't work on her 24 Corolla.

Peppermint spray around decks and sheds will also deter skunks from settling down. Apparently, they don't like strong smells o_O

My car hauler has bias ply "Goodride" tires on it. A friend's had the same and was always a little jittery like mine is. When they aged out he got some radial tires and it made a big difference. I only use mine 3-5 times per year so can't justify spending the money in advance, but when they're worn or old I'll upgrade.

I actually did the cotton ball thing last time. I can't get close to the edges in my attic, so I threw them. Haven't caught a mouse up there since - traps still have chocolate on them and everything.

I've installed an electronic mouse repellent in a car and the owner hasn't had any mice do any damage since I installed it. It runs on 12V and hasn't killed the battery either.
I've seen people put all kinds of items underneath the hood and in the car. It usually cars with nothing in them that have rodent damage, so I guess something is better than nothing. It also helps if the car doesn't sit for months at a time.
To @vssman I hope your garage is well sealed (if it's attached) so fumes don't get into the house and the garage door is open. Carbon monoxide is bad.
